Married at First Sight Chapter 1419

Chapter 1419
*“Serenity, this is a little gift from me. Please keep it for your sister. It’s customary to bring a gift when visiting someone in the hospital,” Chelsea mentioned, referring to the social norm.
She insisted that Liberty accept the gift card.
Olivia also presented Liberty with a gift card.
Serenity declined, and in the end, both mothers handed the gift cards to Sonny, asking him to hold onto them. They then hurriedly left.
Mr. Brown accompanied them, preventing Serenity from returning the gift cards.
Only Hank remained, awkwardly watching Liberty.
Serenity wanted Hank to take the gift cards back, but Sonny held on tightly, stating, “Grandmom and Aunt Chelsea gave these to me!”
Serenity gently replied, “Sonny, you need to return these gift cards to them. We don’t want their money.”
“Grandmom and Aunt Chelsea gave them to me!”
Sonny stubbornly refused. His grandmother and aunt had given him gift cards before, but his mother would always exchange them for cash and add it to his piggy bank.
As a result, he instinctively wanted to protect the gift cards from his grandmother and aunt. This was his money!
Serenity was at a loss for words.
It was her first realization that her nephew was frugal.
“Take care of yourself, Liberty. I’ll visit you again when I have time,” Hank finally said, leaving after exchanging some polite remarks without expressing what he truly wanted to say.
Serenity struggled to retrieve the two gift cards from her nephew to return to the Brown family and turned to her sister for assistance.
Liberty, though pale, managed a small smile as she said, “Let it go, just accept the gift cards. They’ve given them to Sonny before, so he’s accustomed to receiving them. It’s too difficult to take them back.”

“Sonny’s hands.” Serenity picked up her nephew and gave him a kiss, playfully asking, “Sonny, are you saving up to buy a wife in the future?”

“I’m saving for Mom. I want to save lots and lots of money so Mom can have a big house to live in later.” Liberty’s smile widened.

Serenity laughed and praised him, “Our Sonny is such a good boy. You even know how to save money for a big house for your mom!”

Sonny wiggled out of Serenity’s arms, eager to sit on the bed. She carefully placed him down, making sure he didn’t touch Liberty’s wounds.

Sonny then presented his mother with two gift cards. “Here, Mom.”

“Let your aunt hold onto them for now. I’ll take them back when I feel better, okay?”

Sonny considered this and nodded, handing the gift cards to Serenity for safekeeping. “Remember to give them back to me, Aunt Ser.”

Serenity chuckled, “Are you worried I’ll take your money?”

Sonny looked a bit embarrassed and suddenly lay down, though he was careful not to touch his mother’s injuries. He lay on his side, facing her to stay close.

Knock, knock. There was a knock at the door.

Jim entered and said respectfully, “Mr. Callum has arrived with Ms. Newman.”

“Let them in,” Serenity replied.

Jim acknowledged her and stepped back out.

Moments later, Callum entered with Camryn, who was carrying a fruit basket and a bouquet of flowers. Camryn walked slowly, using a cane, while Callum patiently accompanied her.

“Camryn,” Serenity said, stepping forward to assist her.
