Chapter 1400
“Seren, how is Liberty? I just followed Kevin on a business trip, and I can’t believe such a serious situation has arisen.”
The caller was Grandma May.
She had accompanied Kevin to Jensburg and had only just learned about Liberty’s unfortunate incident.
“Nana…”
Serenity had just managed to stop crying, but hearing Grandma May’s voice made her want to cry again. She responded in a teary voice, “Nana, my sister is hurt.”
“Seren, please don’t cry. Tell me how she’s doing. I’m on my way back. Don’t worry; I’ll get there even if the sky falls.”
Upon hearing about Liberty’s injury, Grandma May forgot about creating opportunities for Kevin and hurried back to Wiltspoon.
Kevin was almost done with his work, but he was concerned about letting his nana return home alone. Therefore, he delegated his remaining tasks to someone else and accompanied her back to Wiltspoon.
“The doctor said she’s stable for now, but she needs to stay in the ICU for a few days. She’ll only be truly out of danger if she makes it through this critical period.”
“Which hospital is she in?” Grandma May inquired.
Serenity provided the name of the hospital.
Grandma May reassured her, “That hospital is excellent; it’s one of the top three in the area. Don’t worry; your sister will recover. If necessary, I’ll be bold and plead with the skilled doctor to help her. Just try to stay calm and stop crying, okay? I’ll be there soon. You have nothing to fear with me around.”
“I can read fortunes, and I’ve seen the futures of you sisters. You are both destined for lives of wealth and privilege, and you are very fortunate. It may be challenging at first, but the rewards will come later.”
Grandma May had also shared this insight with her granddaughter-in-law about the sisters’ prospects.
Fortunes offered her reassurance. Under Grandma May’s comforting presence, Serenity’s heart gradually began to find peace. She believed that her sister was blessed and would live a long life. Zachary received a call from his mother. Tania inquired about Liberty’s injuries and Sonny’s condition, and ultimately urged Zachary to take good care of Serenity. Zachary replied softly, “I will, Mom.”
Once the call ended, Serenity continued her conversation with Grandma May, who also wanted to know about Sonny’s condition. She felt a bit relieved to hear that he was fine.
“Mom, Mom…” Sonny was having a nightmare. Serenity quickly ended her call with Grandma May and went to comfort him. Sonny was calling out for his mother.
“Sonny, Sonny, don’t be scared. Your mom is fine, and I’m right here,” Serenity reassured him while gently patting his little body to help him calm down. Suddenly, Sonny opened his eyes.
He looked at Serenity, slowly coming back to reality. He sat up, wrapped his arms around her neck, and, trembling with fear, said, “Aunt Ser, I dreamed about a lot of blood. Mom lost a lot of blood. I’m so scared.”
“Sonny, there’s no need to be afraid. Your mom is fine and will wake up tomorrow,” Serenity said.
“The bad guy hit her, kept kicking her, and even stabbed her with a knife…” Sonny’s face went pale as he recounted the nightmare. His usually bright eyes were filled with fear, and his little body trembled. The gruesome scene was etched in his mind.
He feared he would relive it whenever he closed his eyes to sleep. It terrified him!
