Married at First Sight Chapter 1394

Chapter 1394
Liberty was in the ICU and did not require care from family members, who were permitted only brief visits each day.
Although Serenity could not be by her sister’s side in the ward, she refused to leave the hospital, insisting on waiting outside until her sister woke up.
Her sister would surely awaken.
The police arrived at the hospital.
Everyone watched as several officers approached.
“Which one of you is Jessica Yates?” asked the lead officer.
All eyes turned to Jessica.
With fear evident on her face, Jessica replied, “I am.”
After saying something, the officer signaled for two policewomen to step forward and take her away.
“Officer.”
Hank quickly stepped in front of them, with his parents following closely behind.
They all looked at the officers.
“Officer, can you please explain what crime my wife has committed? Why are you taking her?” Hank demanded.
“We suspect that Jessica Yates is involved in this child abduction, and we need to bring her in for questioning. Please cooperate,” the officer replied.
Jessica’s face turned pale instantly. Her legs felt weak, and she struggled to remain standing. Without the support of the two policewomen, she might have collapsed.
She was in disbelief.
Only a few hours had passed since the incident, yet the police were already there to arrest her. Were all the individuals sent by that unknown woman apprehended? Had they betrayed her?
During the incident, Jessica had seen numerous people from the other side intervene to prevent Liberty from pursuing the man who had taken Sonny. Although some helped Liberty, the two groups clashed, creating greater chaos.
Additionally, a few people had desperately pursued after him.

Liberty.

Jessica clearly heard those people refer to Liberty as “Ms. Hunt.” They were not the villains; rather, they were individuals assisting Liberty. If Jessica was correct, they had been sent by Mr. York.

She suddenly realized that Mr. York had been secretly arranging for people to follow Liberty and her son. Liberty was Sonny’s biological mother, and a woman’s true strength often emerges when her child is in danger.

The Yorks’ bodyguards were well-trained, meaning they were certainly not slow runners. Despite this, they could not catch up to Liberty, possibly because killers were also rushing out to intercept them.

The Yorks’ bodyguards and the Duncans’ men arrived just a few minutes too late. By then, Liberty had already been stabbed multiple times.

Jessica feared this incident would mirror the zoo incident, where the investigation yielded no results. Chelsea had often complained about how the police had failed to solve the case and apprehend the individuals who attempted to abduct the children.

Jessica received news advising her to hold off on taking action for a while. She assumed the other party would not strike again for several months. However, she found herself being pressured over the past two days to bring Sonny out again.

“Officer, you must be mistaken. My wife… How could she be a suspect in this incident? She was always with us, and she’s not capable of doing that,” Hank protested, suspecting a police error.

The police officer replied seriously, “We have evidence. We will not wrongfully accuse anyone.”

Hank wanted to argue further, but his parents pulled him away.

“Hank, didn’t you notice your wife’s reaction? Her face was pale, and her legs were weak. Those are signs of fear after experiencing something traumatic.”

“Light,” noted Mrs. Brown. After saying this, she regained her composure and swiftly stepped in front of Jessica. She raised her hand and slapped Jessica twice. If not for one of the officers intervening, she would have kept going. “You b*tch, it was you all along! How dare you conspire with the kidnappers to take my grandson?! You spiteful woman! Witch! Don’t hold me back; I’ll tear her apart!”
