Married at First Sight Chapter 1390

Chapter 1390
“Liberty.”
Serenity was in a town near her hometown, checking on her project’s progress when she answered the phone.
Believing it was her sister calling, Serenity greeted her with a smile.
Meanwhile, Zachary had also called Serenity while heading to the hospital, but Sonny had already beaten him to it, and his call did not connect.
“Aunt Ser…”
Sonny began to cry as soon as he heard his aunt’s voice.
Serenity attempted to soothe her nephew. “What’s wrong, Sonny? Why are you crying? Was the lesson too hard? Don’t cry. Remember, you’re a man, and men don’t cry. I’ll take you to the supermarket later and buy you anything you want.”
“Aunt Ser, Mom was bleeding. There was so much blood… Please come back, Aunt Ser. Mom’s about to die… Wahhh!”
Sonny’s voice broke as he continued to wail.
On the other end, Serenity was stunned, and the phone slipped from her grasp.
Elisa, sitting next to Serenity, bent down to retrieve the phone.
Serenity managed to grab it back and shouted into the receiver, “What did you say, Sonny? Can you please clarify? What happened to your mom? Sonny! Sonny! Please say something!”
But Sonny only continued to cry.
Hank then took over the call and said, “Serenity, it’s serious. Someone tried to kidnap Sonny again. Your sister was stabbed while trying to protect him. She’s in the emergency room right now. Where are you? You need to come back immediately. What if… you might only get to see her one last time.”
Once more, Serenity’s phone fell to the floor. A chill ran through her, and her world felt like it was turning upside down. She could hardly keep herself upright.
“Seren.”
“What’s wrong, Seren?”
Jasmine and Elisa rushed to help her stand.
“My sister…”
Serenity couldn’t find the words to speak.
“What happened to your sister?” Elisa asked, her voice laced with concern and anxiety.
“Go… Go! Go back!”
Every ounce of strength was required for Serenity to shout those words.
She had to return.
Why did she have to travel so far from her hometown today? Why couldn’t she stay with her sister and nephew?
“Okay, okay. Let’s head back. We’ll go back now. Don’t panic, Seren. Everything will be alright.”
Elisa reassured her as she and Jasmine supported Serenity. They hurried to their parked car.
Although the girls were clueless about what was happening with Liberty, Elisa suspected it was something serious.
Otherwise, Serenity wouldn’t be so speechless.
Serenity was in no condition to drive.
Elisa took the wheel while Jasmine sat in the backseat with Serenity.
Serenity’s phone rang again.
It was Zachary.
With trembling hands, Serenity answered the call while Jasmine watched her anxiously.
As soon as the call connected, Serenity still struggled to find her voice. It felt as if something was lodged in her throat, and tears streamed down her cheeks.
“Seren…”
Zachary had arrived at the hospital.
Liberty was still in the emergency room.
He was at a loss for words.
Despite having assigned numerous people to protect Liberty and Sonny in the dark, Liberty had still been hurt.
“Seren… Liberty…”
Zachary couldn’t find the words. His stumbling speech only led Serenity to misunderstand, making her fear that her sister hadn’t survived. She fainted and slumped in her seat, the phone slipping from her hand.
“Seren!”
Panic-stricken, Jasmine held Serenity upright and pinched her nose.
Elisa quickly brought the car to a stop.

She parked the car by the side of the road and jumped out. Opening the backseat door, she climbed in to take turns with Jasmine pinching Serenity’s nose.
