“Mom!”
Sonny wanted to protect his mother, but he was too young and small. With her holding him tightly against her, he felt powerless to help.
When his kicking failed to loosen Liberty’s grip, the man drew a knife and slashed it into Liberty’s arm.
Liberty winced in pain as blood poured from the wound, quickly soaking her clothes. Yet, the agony only strengthened her resolve to hold on.
In a fit of rage, the man stabbed Liberty repeatedly.
Liberty remained on the ground, shielding her son, who was now beneath her. The blood-stained knife continued to cut into her flesh.
After a few strikes, someone kicked the weapon from the man’s grasp. He made a desperate attempt to fight back but was soon overpowered and left groaning on the ground.
“Ms. Hunt!”
The bodyguard, tasked with protecting Liberty and Sonny in the shadows, was horrified to find Liberty covered in blood.
“Sonny…”
Due to the significant blood loss, Liberty’s complexion turned pale, and her vision blurred. But she felt relief knowing that Zachary’s men had arrived, ensuring her and her son’s safety.
She released her grip on Sonny and collapsed onto the ground. As darkness enveloped her, Liberty lost consciousness.
“Ms. Hunt!”
“Mom! Mom!”
Terrified, Sonny repeatedly pushed against his mother, but she remained unresponsive. Blood poured from her wounds, and in a panic, he tried to wipe it away, but it kept flowing. He attempted to cover her injuries with his small hands, but there were too many cuts for him to manage.
“Mom!”
Sonny broke down in tears.
His hands and body were stained with his mother’s blood.
The York family’s bodyguard quickly called 911.
The sound of police sirens soon filled the air.
The companions of the man in black scattered and fled. Hank, who had finally caught up, was out of breath. He was about to sigh at the sight of his son, but the gruesome scene left him weak in the knees. He stumbled forward to take Liberty to the hospital.
