Liberty promptly instructed her son to greet William Jr.
“Hello, William.”
As Sonny greeted his instructor, William responded with a smile.
Although the boy might not possess a natural talent for fighting, he was undeniably adorable. William formed a positive first impression of Sonny.
“Come in, William.”
Zachary and Serenity welcomed William into their home.
Taking Sonny by the hand, Liberty confidently entered the house alongside Duncan.
“Are you picking up your car this afternoon, Liberty?” Duncan asked casually.
“Yes, I am.”
Liberty beamed as she spoke about her car. While it wasn’t a luxury model, it was the first vehicle she had purchased for herself.
Liberty was ecstatic.
“I have no plans this afternoon, so I’ll accompany you.”
Liberty declined the kind offer. “That’s okay, Mr. Lewis. I’m just picking up the car. I’ll drive it back myself. Serenity is coming with me.”
Duncan smiled, “I thought you were going alone. Since Serenity is with you, I won’t intrude. Just be careful. It’s your first time driving. Don’t be too nervous; you’ll adjust quickly.”
“I got my driver’s license a while ago. The place I used to work provided a company car, so I think I drive well.”
Duncan was at a loss for words.
The group settled into the house when the doorbell rang.
Shortly after, a maid entered and approached Serenity. The maid spoke respectfully, “Missus, a certain Ms. Harmon wishes to see you.”
Ms. Harmon?
Serenity immediately thought of Lily.
She glanced at Duncan.
Noticing the intensity of Serenity’s gaze, Duncan replied, “She’s here for you, Serenity. Why are you staring at me?”
Serenity…
With a smile, she replied, “I didn’t say anything.”
She then told the maid, “Please invite Ms. Harmon in.”
The maid responded courteously before turning on her heel and leaving.
Before long, Lily entered the living room, with the maid following closely behind, carrying Lily’s belongings.
Serenity stood up and greeted Lily with a smile. “You don’t need to bring me gifts. Your presence is more than enough, Ms. Harmon.”
Lily smiled back and said, “I heard you enjoy desserts, so I made some in my spare time. I hope you don’t mind that I brought you a few.”
She handed the desserts she had made to Serenity, while the rest were health supplements.
“Thank you, Ms. Harmon,” Serenity said as she accepted the desserts. “I must try them since you made them. I love sweets and desserts.”
Lily responded, “I love to eat and make them too, but work can sometimes get in the way. It’s been a while since I’ve made anything. I hope you enjoy them.”
As they walked toward the rest of the group, Serenity and Lily continued to chat.
Lily greeted everyone before sitting down next to Duncan. While seated, she discreetly glanced at Liberty’s reaction. Liberty maintained her smile, showing no signs of a different reaction. Lily was convinced that Liberty harbored no romantic feelings for Duncan.
