Married at First Sight Chapter 1364

Chapter 1364
“You’ll be able to ride the bicycle better if you learn the art of self-defense. Do you want to learn how to fight?”
“I do.”
Zachary carried Sonny over to a man in black who stood nearby. As they walked, Zachary said, “Sonny, I’ve arranged for an instructor to teach you how to fight. You need to listen to him and put in the effort.”
Everyone turned their attention to the stranger.
Serenity spoke to her sister, “Zachary mentioned he would find someone to teach Sonny self-defense. He can train and learn to protect himself.”
“That’s very thoughtful of Zachary,”
Liberty expressed her gratitude.
Her brother-in-law had brought it up after the incident at the zoo.
Liberty believed boys should learn a self-defense skill.
Duncan chimed in, “You could have told me that Sonny wants to learn to fight. I can teach him myself.”
“Mr. Lewis, you’re busy with work. I wouldn’t want to impose on you.”
Liberty thought to herself, ‘Hiring Duncan as my son’s instructor must be expensive. While I’ve made some money now, it doesn’t mean I can afford him.’
Zachary had hired the son of the instructor who had taught him, his brother, and their cousins. Though the son wasn’t as skilled as their instructor, he knew enough to guide Sonny in the right direction.
Reminded of his heavy workload, Duncan smiled but didn’t say anything further.
“This is William Jr., the son of William Sr., who taught me, my brothers, and my cousins. He’s quite skilled and has opened several gyms of his own. Many people learn to fight from him,” Zachary introduced William to his sister-in-law.
Liberty greeted William.
William appeared to be around Duncan’s age. He was a respectable young man with a tall build. Though he had a stern look, he managed a slight smile.

“Hello, everybody,” Liberty greeted him.

Zachary set Sonny down.

William knelt to Sonny’s eye level, carefully assessing him. He felt Sonny’s limbs and torso before turning to Zachary and saying, “Mr. Zachary, we can train your nephew from a young age, and after years of training, he’ll be capable of taking down a dozen opponents on his own.”

“But I doubt he can become the champion of the world,” he added.

Zachary replied, “We just want Sonny to learn to fight and defend himself, William. He doesn’t need to be famous for being the best; just teach him to the best of your ability.”

For those in their circle, the art of self-defense was simply that—self-defense. There was no need to seek recognition in the fighting world. Many people pursued it as a hobby or took a class or two.

The York family hired professionals to teach them how to inflict real damage, following Grandma May’s wishes. Zachary noted that Serenity’s skills were sufficient to handle girls or typical thugs. However, he acknowledged that Serenity would stand no chance against a true professional.

William felt a sense of relief. Rather than feeling flattered, he felt the pressure when Zachary sought his assistance. He worried that Zachary might have high expectations that he wouldn’t be able to fulfill.

William was in no position to decline, as the York boys had trained under his father. This was why he accompanied Zachary to meet his future and youngest student. Fortunately, Zachary had no intention of thrusting the boy into the spotlight of the fighting world. This allowed William to concentrate on teaching the young child the principles of self-defense.
