Married at First Sight Chapter 1344

Chapter 1344
With an air of nonchalance, as if the situation were of no concern to him, Jim commented, “It’ll be fine. The missus can always keep Mr. Zachary in check, no matter what. Regardless of how he tries to lash out, he invariably loses to the missus when she attempts to reason with him. It’s the same every time.”
Sam shot him a skeptical glance.
Jim grinned smugly. “It’s true; you know it is! Sam, don’t worry about it. As long as the missus is here, she’ll maintain control no matter what happens. We don’t need to do anything, even if Mr. Zachary gets upset. Just wait for the missus to step in and handle the situation.”
They all understood that no matter how angry Mr. Zachary became, he would never harm the missus.
“Sam, it’s getting late. Why don’t you get some rest? I need to catch some sleep too,” Jim said, stifling an exaggerated yawn before excusing himself and walking away.
Sam replayed Jim’s words in his mind and soon realized that this was why the brat had always made an effort to stay on the missus’s good side—he understood who was truly in control.
Jim was fully aware of this as well; he recognized that this insight was part of why he was compensated better than the others.
Meanwhile, at Wiltspoon Hotel, the three members of the Newman family were the last to leave the hotel, partly because Camryn was taking her time.
Noticing that there were hardly any guests left at this hour, Mrs. Newman decided it was unnecessary to maintain appearances any longer. She abandoned Camryn and exited the hotel alone.
Without her cane, Camryn stumbled around aimlessly and inadvertently walked back into the hotel instead.
After walking a short distance, she paused.
“Mr. Callumn?”
Callum was intrigued by Camryn.

calling his name, “How did you know it was me?”

“I caught a whiff of your scent; it’s very distinctive,” he replied.

Callum smiled.

“Why did you come back? Did you forget something? Let me help you find it.”

Camryn blushed slightly at his words. Before they went out tonight, Mrs. Newman had prohibited her from taking her sunglasses. Without them, she felt exposed, and her expression revealed her discomfort.

“I—I think I’m a little lost. I was going to head out.”

“Mr. Callum, could you please show me the way out of here?”

Callum glanced towards the lobby. After a moment of thought, he took Camryn’s hand without saying a word.

Camryn instinctively recoiled at his touch, stepping back two paces. “Just show me the way out; I can walk on my own.”

“I’m worried you might bump into something if I let you go alone.”

He offered her a reassuring look. “Don’t worry; I’m not going to do anything to you.”

“I know, I know you’re not that kind of person. Still, please just tell me the way to the lobby. I’ll be careful on my way out. I promise I won’t bump into anything.”

Callum hesitated. He quickly removed his tie and handed one end to Camryn, instructing her, “Hold on to this and follow me.”

Camryn gripped the fabric tightly, feeling a sense of security wash over her, easing her anxiety.

“Thank you, Mr. Callum.”

“Let’s go.”

He thought they should get her a guide dog.

He wondered if suggesting it would offend her, especially since they were still getting to know each other.

With Callum leading the way, Camryn finally managed to exit the hotel.

The Newman couple

They had already left by this point, leaving a bodyguard behind to wait for Camryn.

“Ms. Newman,” the bodyguard greeted Camryn as soon as he spotted her. “Your parents have instructed me to take you home.”

He then turned to Callum and expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for escorting Ms. Newman, Mr. Callum.”

“Not at all, it was no trouble,” Callum replied, feeling relieved that the Newmans had left a bodyguard to ensure Camryn’s safe return home. He helped Camryn into the car shortly thereafter.

Once the car drove away, Callum suddenly remembered that his sister-in-law had specifically instructed him to avoid drinking that night and had also asked him to ensure Camryn got home safely after the banquet.

After a moment’s consideration, he decided to retrieve his car. Since he had arrived at the venue earlier than the others, his car was conveniently parked just a short distance away in the front lot.
