Elisa interjected, “She’s blind, yet you continue to drag her.”
Mrs. Newman’s smile wavered.
“I suppose the sun will rise in the west tomorrow,” Elisa remarked sarcastically, casting Mrs. Newman a sidelong glance. “This is your first time bringing Camryn to a banquet, Mrs. Newman. Quite unusual. Do you think the sun will rise in the west tomorrow?”
Elisa’s mockery stirred anger in Mrs. Newman, but she kept her composure and replied, “Camryn is blind, and I can’t always be at her side, even if I bring her to banquets. I used to worry about her getting hurt. Besides, Camryn doesn’t enjoy these events, so I typically left her behind.
“However, Camryn is no longer a child. It’s time for her to socialize and meet others.”

Mrs. Newman used Camryn as a pretext.
Serenity glanced at Camryn and replied coolly, “Let’s sit over there and talk.”
Mrs. Newman motioned for Serenity to lead the way.
As Serenity guided Camryn, Camryn nudged her palm. Serenity understood and whispered, “I’m aware of the situation.”
