Chapter 1331
1/2
Zachary’s team of bodyguards created a clear path for him and Serenity, ensuring that no one could approach them as they pleased.
The couple followed their parents toward the Marshalls.
Everyone exchanged greetings.
Ultimately, the Marshalls’ attention focused on Serenity.
Serenity exuded charm, and her presence was equally impressive. She was both elegant and graceful, without appearing pretentious.
Zachary and Serenity had made their marriage public long ago, but they had yet to attend any elite events together. Serenity typically accompanied Mrs. Stone to banquets, and Mrs. Marshall rarely attended social gatherings. Thus, it was the Marshalls’ first opportunity to meet Serenity.
For the last six months, Mrs. York, a well-known figure in Wiltspoon, was not as lacking as rumors suggested, according to the Marshalls.
On the contrary, they felt she was a perfect match for Zachary; together, they seemed to be made for each other.
Those who claimed Serenity was inelegant and unworthy of Zachary were undoubtedly jealous, envious of her seemingly favorable fortune.
“This is my wife, Serenity,”
Zachary introduced Serenity to the Marshalls.
He then introduced the Marshalls to Serenity, who greeted everyone with a smile.
Mrs. Marshall said to Tania with a smile, “Tania, I’m so envious of you. Your daughter-in-law appears to be a fine, kind, and devoted child. You’re sure to enjoy a happy life ahead.”
Tania laughed and replied, “Of course! Serenity has won my heart. I don’t have a daughter, so I’ll love and treat my daughter-in-law as if she were one.”
Mrs. Marshall smiled broadly. “I could tell from the start that you truly care for your daughter-in-law.”
The sets of jewelry Old
Mrs. York’s gifts to Tania over the years were incredibly valuable. Although Tania owned a vast collection of jewelry, she held the pieces given to her by the late Mrs. York in the highest regard. She reserved these cherished items for grand occasions.
However, Serenity currently wore all of Tania’s favorite and most precious jewelry set. Would Tania have allowed Serenity to wear them if she didn’t like her daughter-in-law? The rumors from outsiders about their strained relationship were unreliable.
“I have three sons, but only one daughter-in-law. I treat Serenity like a pearl,” Tania said as she pulled Serenity closer. Together, they entered the hotel while conversing with the ladies of the Marshall family.
“Jules, you wouldn’t believe how much Zack complains that I’m stealing his wife. I simply wanted to go shopping with my daughter-in-law, but both Zack and my husband have been quite vocal about it. Zack, in particular, seems to view me as a rival in love,” Tania explained.
Mrs. Marshall’s name was Julie, and Tania, being close to her, affectionately called her Jules.
Mrs. Marshall smiled and replied, “The men in your family all act like that.”
She then playfully teased Serenity, “It must be challenging to endure Zachary’s temper, Serenity.”
Serenity defended her husband with a smile. “Mrs. Marshall, Zachary is actually very kind. We get along well, and he is quite patient with me.”
“I’m good friends with your mother-in-law and Audrey. You can call me Aunt Jules,” Mrs. Marshall said, revealing her full name: Julie Marshall, née Miller.
“Aunt Jules,” Serenity responded, adjusting her address for Mrs. Marshall.
