Married at First Sight Chapter 1321

Chapter 1321
“I’ll help you with your makeup, honey.”
Serenity obliged and changed into the most conservative dress in her wardrobe. Zachary offered to assist her with her makeup once more.
Serenity declined without a moment’s hesitation.
“I still care about my appearance.”
Her statement left Zachary momentarily speechless, his mouth opening and closing without producing any words.
Amused by his reaction, Serenity smiled and asked, “Do you even know how to do makeup? Don’t think I’m unaware of your intentions. You’ll just end up painting my face like a ghost so no one will look at me.”
Zachary was at a loss for words. “I’ve never helped a woman with her makeup before, but I wouldn’t make you look like a ghost to scare anyone.”
“Forget it; I can’t trust you. I’ll handle it myself. Go get ready. We’ll be leaving soon.” Zachary insisted on staying, replying, “I don’t have much to prepare. I just need to change into a suit, swap my home slippers for leather shoes, and then I’ll need your help with my tie.”
He didn’t require makeup.
He was naturally handsome, and makeup would only detract from his looks.
Zachary York had never worn makeup.
“There’s no need to rush. It doesn’t matter if we’re late as long as we arrive.”
In previous years, Zachary had always shown up quite late to the Marshalls’ banquet, and he would leave soon after arriving.
He was accustomed to being late and departing early.
Serenity returned to the vanity and sat down, combing her hair as she remarked, “You’re used to being late and leaving early.”
“I don’t enjoy being around them.”
“That’s because you’re the eldest young master of the York family.”
Zachary responded, “I wouldn’t have been able to marry you if…

“I wasn’t the eldest.”

If he weren’t the eldest, his nana would never have allowed him to marry Serenity.

Knock, knock.

Someone was at the door.

“Go open the door,” Serenity urged, wanting to silence his endless chatter. She never imagined that the mature and calm Mr. York would turn into a broken record, nagging her to the point where her head hurt.

Zachary quickly leaned in to kiss her cheek. Just as she was about to swat him away, he dashed off to open the door.

“Mr. Zachary,” a maid said respectfully as he opened the door. “Your parents have arrived.”

Zachary nodded and closed the door again.

“Who was it?” Serenity inquired while applying her makeup.

“My parents are here.”

“Then why aren’t you going downstairs?”

“This is their son’s home. They can do what they like without me.”

Zachary stepped behind Serenity, watching her as she finished her makeup. “Honey, you don’t need to dress up so elaborately. Honestly, I think you look amazing just as you are. You’re naturally beautiful, and even without makeup, you’re the most beautiful woman in the world.”

“Don’t say I’m the most beautiful woman on earth; people will laugh.”

“To me, you are the most beautiful woman. A little makeup is all you need.”

If asked, he would say his wife looked best without any makeup.

Tonight, there would be many guests, and he truly disliked the idea of other men staring at her.

Even if they just glanced her way, it would still irritate him.

“Just go downstairs already!”
