Married at First Sight Chapter 1317

Chapter 1317
Duncan’s three brothers remained silent.
They feared their mother would accuse them of indulging Duncan if they defended him again, which might explain why he was still single at thirty-six.
Duncan walked Lily out of the house, and they strolled casually along the paved path in the courtyard.
However, Duncan’s pace was brisk.
Lily, wearing high heels, struggled to keep up with him.
“Duncan,”
Lily was not one to endure discomfort for others. She jogged ahead and reached out to take his hand.
“What is it?”
Duncan’s demeanor toward Lily was neutral; he neither disliked her nor felt any chemistry with her.
He was also displeased with his family’s insistence on setting him up with a girlfriend without his approval.
“Are you racing me?”
Duncan’s dark eyes flickered. “Didn’t you say you wanted to take a stroll? Even if you wanted to race, it’s not wise to do so right after eating; it could upset your stomach.”
Lily paused and replied, “Don’t play dumb, Duncan. There’s a bench here. Let’s sit and talk.”
Duncan considered telling her he had no reason to talk to her.
Since their companies had never collaborated, there was nothing business-related to discuss.
Nonetheless, he followed her to the stone bench ahead. Just as he was about to sit down, Lily halted him, took out a packet of scented tissues, and wiped the bench.
Only after discarding the tissue did she permit him to sit down.
This girl was quite conscientious.
Duncan sat down and remarked, “The staff here cleans the stone benches and tables in the backyard every day.”
“But it’s been windy lately, and there’s a lot of dust in the air. Even if it’s cleaned,

Every day, there will still be dust. The tissue was covered in dirt when I wiped it just now.” Duncan smiled and asked, “Ms. Harmon, are you a clean freak?” “No.” “That’s good. I’m most afraid of clean freaks. An uncouth man like me can’t get along with them. Zachary is a bit fussy about cleanliness, but he falls within my tolerance. He’s not a germaphobe, just particular.” “When are you going back, Ms. Harmon?” Duncan didn’t spend much time with Lily and had little to discuss, so he simply inquired about her departure. Lily looked at him and replied with a vague smile, “Are you trying to chase me away? I haven’t been here long enough. I completed my initial tasks, but I still need to negotiate with large companies like yours. I won’t be returning anytime soon.” The elders of both families wanted to set her up with Duncan, so her parents and brothers supported her staying in Wiltspoon to discuss business. Her eldest brother was present to manage the company, allowing her to focus on securing a contract with Lewis & Co. Once they began working together, Lily could visit Duncan frequently. “I didn’t mean to suggest I wanted to kick you out. I just noticed you’ve been here for a while, but I suppose it hasn’t actually been that long. Let’s discuss our partnership during the workweek. It’s the weekend now, so we should take it easy instead of talking business.”
