Married at First Sight Chapter 1305

Chapter 1305
Serenity bent down to hold the cat up.
“Missus, you might want to sweet-talk Mr. Zachary. He hasn’t eaten anything since he got up.”
Mrs. Lane was at a loss for words regarding her boss’s sudden outburst.
She would not have known that Zachary had a childish side if she didn’t work here.
While petting the cat, Serenity said, “Mrs. Lane, please tell me why he’s upset so I can help calm him down. I didn’t do anything.”
Mrs. Lane whispered, “I think Mr. Zachary is upset because you went out early this morning. He probably hoped you would spend time with him since he’s home for the weekend.”
Serenity replied, “I went to help my sister at her diner… Even though it’s the weekend, many factories are still open. The workers had to go to work. My sister’s breakfast place was going to be busy, so I left early to assist her. But I came back early—I was home before ten o’clock.”
It didn’t occur to her that Zachary would sulk over something so trivial.
Mrs. Lane was speechless.
“I’ll go in and try to cheer him up.”
Knowing her man’s temperament, Serenity helplessly carried the cat into the room.
It crossed Mrs. Lane’s mind to stop Serenity from bringing the cat inside, but it was too late.
Mrs. Lane feared it might only worsen Mr. Zachary’s mood.
Serenity stepped into the bedroom with the cat in her arms.
Zachary stood by the window, his back turned to the bedroom door.
He didn’t turn around when the door opened.
Serenity approached and stood beside him, admiring the view outside the window. She asked, “What are you looking at?”
Tilting his head, Zachary shifted his gaze to

her, only to discover that she was holding a cat. He furrowed his brows and sharply turned, striding away from the window.

“Babe,” he said.

Serenity followed closely behind him. “You were still sleeping when I got up. I thought it best to let you rest since you’re always busy with work. That’s why I didn’t wake you. I didn’t go anywhere; I just helped my sister.”

“I thought you might wake up by now, so I hurried home. It’s still hectic at my sister’s diner, and I didn’t want you to wake up alone. I rushed back.”

As she explained, Serenity didn’t pause in her steps.

Zachary stopped, turned, and locked eyes with her. “Do you love me, Serenity?” he asked.

It had been a while since he had addressed her by her full name; he usually called her “Seren.”

Serenity sighed internally. ‘Please don’t tell me he’s upset about this.’

Nonetheless, she didn’t hesitate in her response. “I do. I love you, Zachary. I love you.”

Her quick reply softened the tense lines of his face, but he maintained a serious expression as he said in a pained voice, “Do you really love me? Why can’t you remember that I hate furry animals if you love me? You even brought it into my room.”

Serenity was left speechless.

She lowered her gaze and exclaimed, “Oh!”

Embarrassed, she added, “I’m sorry, Zachary. I forgot I had the cat in my arms. I’ll take it out right away. Don’t worry; I’ve been holding it this whole time, so the fur is only on me. I promise there won’t be any fur in your room.”

She quickly carried the ragdoll cat out of the room.

Despite the cat’s beauty and cuteness, Zachary couldn’t bring himself to warm up to the furry creature. He even questioned…

Her love was put into question because she brought the cat into the bedroom.

Sigh.

After taking the ragdoll out, Serenity placed the cat on the ground, stood up, and said to Mrs. Lane, “Why didn’t you warn me that I was still holding the cat, Mrs. Lane? Your boss can be so uptight. He’s already having a fit, and now he’s doubting whether my love for him is genuine just because I brought the cat in.”
