You are fit as a fiddle. You’re not pregnant yet because the time hasn’t arrived. Our future child has yet to join us.
“Our little angel is still making their way to us. You’ll have buns in the oven before we know it. Don’t worry too much about it,” Zachary reassured his wife, holding her tightly to prevent Serenity from blaming herself for not being pregnant yet.
“Pregnancy can be challenging. Your cousin-in-law, Alice, has been suffering from severe morning sickness, so much so that Clive is hesitant about having a child.”
Not wanting Serenity to endure the same experience, Zachary said, “Seren, we don’t need to have a child right away. Let’s cherish our time together as husband and wife for now.”
“I’ll take you on a trip to Annenburg next weekend. We could use a break.”
In the end, he restrained himself.
“Oh, next weekend? Is it alright to take time off work?”
“I’m not the only one running the company. We have a management team, and my cousins are here too. I’ll only focus on the important matters.”
“Plus, there’s Josh too.”
With a smile, Serenity said, “Mr. Bucham and Jasmine are getting engaged. After the engagement party, the wedding preparations will keep them even busier. You promised to give Mr. Bucham a two-month marital leave.”
“That’s why we need to travel before his wedding,” Zachary replied.
“Sure.”
Serenity was eager to get to know Jane and Iris, believing their friendship resembled her bond with Jasmine. Since Zachary made time for a holiday in Annenburg, she was excited to go. “I spoke to Remy as you asked. He has feelings for Elisa but isn’t rushing to confess. He thinks Elisa hasn’t really… um, moved on from the past.”
Serenity didn’t sound as surprised as she thought she would be. She sighed and
He replied, “Aunt Audrey hoped you could suggest to Mr. Johnson that Elisa wouldn’t move away after marriage. I mentioned that Mr. Johnson is a great man. Although he’s originally from Annenburg, he will be a permanent resident of Wiltspoon, as he bought a house here and will be neighbors with my aunt’s family.”
“Aunt Audrey pointed out that this doesn’t change the fact that he was born and raised in Annenburg. For all we know, Elisa could end up relocating to Annenburg.”
“She also wanted you to inform Mr. Johnson that she doesn’t want Elisa to endure that pain again.”
Zachary responded, “Remy only bought the place because of Elisa. Even though he’s from Annenburg, he’s living permanently in Wiltspoon and has a house here as well. How different is he from a local Wiltspoonian?”
“It would be a shame if Elisa passed up on Remy.”
