Married at First Sight Chapter 1286

Chapter 1286
After escorting Serenity to the door and watching her drive away, Mrs. Stone pivoted and headed back into the house.
As soon as Serenity returned to the shop, Jessica stormed in.
Serenity was taken aback by Jessica’s unexpected arrival.
“Where’s your sister, Serenity?” Jessica demanded the moment she entered the shop.
“What do you want with my sister, Mrs. Brown?” Serenity asked as she put her car keys away, a hint of curiosity in her voice.
Jasmine stood vigilant, broom in hand, prepared to intervene if Jessica overstepped.
Jessica’s face was bruised and battered. With her black eye, she appeared rather haggard.
At only twenty-five, one year younger than Serenity, Jessica looked significantly older than her.
This was likely because Hank no longer wanted to cover the costs of her pricey skincare products now that he had his new partner. Liberty had a better skincare routine than Jessica did at the moment.
Serenity felt no pity for Jessica, regardless of her appearance. In fact, she believed Jessica had brought this upon herself.
“I need to talk to her.”
Jessica was bruised from her altercations with her sister-in-law and in-laws. Although the swelling had gone down, the marks were still evident. She was reluctant to return to her parents, knowing they would only berate her.
Her secret elopement with Hank had deprived her parents of a significant financial gift.
Her parents had made it clear that she could forget about seeking their comfort when the Browns mistreated her, especially after she rushed into marrying Hank.
Despite feeling miserable, she desperately needed to confide in someone.
As Jessica scrolled through her phone’s contact list, she realized she had no one left to talk to. Her true friends had abandoned her when she…

She intervened in the marriage between Hank and Liberty. Additionally, Jessica was reluctant for anyone she knew to discover that she struggled with her in-laws. Her thoughts immediately turned to Liberty. It was ironic that the mistress sought solace from the first wife, yet Liberty was the only one with firsthand knowledge of the Browns’ chaotic nature.

“My sister has nothing to discuss with you. You can leave if your conversation is about the Browns. My sister is not connected to them. Don’t worry about her going back to him; it’s your husband’s issue if he pursues another woman. My sister is uninvolved.”

“My sister has known Hank for over a decade; he’s her first love. They were deeply in love and happy after the wedding. Ultimately, he ended the marriage because of you. It’s evident that this man cannot be trusted. Just look at what he did to my sister. One day, the same fate will befall you.”

Jessica retorted irritably, “Hank and I are getting along just fine; I’m not here to discuss that. I just… Where is Liberty? I went to her diner, but it was closed. She’s not at her rented place. I called her, but she didn’t answer. She won’t even respond to my texts.”

“That means my sister doesn’t want to engage with you. Whatever you need to say, you can return and speak to your husband. You and your in-laws shouldn’t come looking for my sister over trivial matters. Why should she have to listen?”

Mrs. Brown frequently vented to Liberty whenever she argued with Jessica. Now, Jessica was doing the same. Serenity had no words for the family. Her sister was not an emotional dumping ground for the Browns’ grievances. Serenity felt tempted to suggest that her sister charge them the next time they came to unload their feelings.
