Married at First Sight Chapter 1263

Chapter 1263
Liberty was unfazed by the fact that her ex-husband was not thriving after their divorce.
What mattered most to her was her own happiness.
At four in the morning, she woke her son and took him to All You Can Eat.
A busy day was about to begin.
Sonny, still quite young, fell asleep during the journey.
Upon arriving at the diner, Liberty arranged two chairs together for him to sleep on, adding a few more chairs around him to prevent him from rolling off onto the floor.
The two assistants she had hired arrived at six in the morning.
The breakfast rush typically ran from six-thirty to nine-thirty.
Serenity would pick up her nephew at seven.
By that time, Sonny would be awake.
The little boy was well-behaved and didn’t cry upon waking; he sat quietly at the cashier, playing with a set of blocks he had yet to assemble.
“Liberty,”
Serenity called out as she entered, and quickly offered her help upon seeing the diner was packed.
“Has Zachary gone to work?”
Serenity nodded and swiftly grabbed a bowl for a customer.
“Has Sonny eaten yet?”
Liberty replied, “Not yet. I planned to make him pancakes, but we’ve run out of batter. Serenity, can you help me whip up another batch?”
She typically prepared pancakes only when there were orders, but she would make the batter in advance.
Serenity nodded in agreement.
Just then, Duncan entered.
“Liberty, Serenity.”
Duncan greeted them and looked around the diner, smiling at the sight of no empty seats.
“Mr. Lewis, would you like to have your food packed to take to the office, or would you prefer to wait for a table?”
Duncan responded,

“I’m not in a hurry. I’ll wait.”

He then walked over to Sonny.

“Dunc.”

Sonny was thrilled to see Duncan, and Duncan felt flattered by the boy’s excitement.

“Hey, Sonny.”

Noticing Sonny’s happiness, Duncan reached out to pick him up.

However, Sonny said, “Dunc, can you help me put the blocks together? I don’t know how to do it, and my dad doesn’t know either.”

Duncan withdrew his hands, walked around the counter to lift Sonny, and sat down in a chair, placing the boy on his lap.

“Your dad? When did he come by?”

Hank’s name made both him and Duncan uneasy. Duncan’s nerves tightened at the mention of Hank.

Sonny replied, “Dad came over last night. He brought me clothes, snacks, and toys. I asked him to help me with the blocks, but he couldn’t.”

Duncan’s dark eyes flickered at Sonny’s words. Had Hank finally learned how to connect with his son?

In the past, Hank had only been willing to cover half of the baby formula Liberty bought for Sonny.

“Your dad is clueless and doesn’t know how to play with Lego. I’ll teach you,” Duncan said warmly, as he held Sonny and showed him how to assemble the plastic bricks. “Did your dad say anything to your mom when he came over?”

“Dad gave her a card. Dunc, I have to tell you something.”

Sonny spoke in a low voice. After glancing at Liberty twice to ensure she wasn’t watching, he leaned closer to Duncan and whispered, “My mom said that she and my dad are divorced.”

Duncan nodded. “Yes, your parents are divorced, and your dad has remarried.”
