Married at First Sight Chapter 1259

Chapter 1259
“While a stepmother is still a mother, Sonny won’t call you ‘Mom.’ Such comments will only upset everyone involved.”
Jessica ignored his words.
She headed straight to the car after leaving Liberty’s apartment building.
Hank got in beside her.
“How about I take you shopping, honey?” he suggested.
“Just drive,” Jessica snapped back.
“I said those things for your sake. I know how much you want Sonny back and how much your family wants him too. If you want to gain custody of him, he’ll be living with us. I’m just trying to prepare for the role of mother in advance,” Hank explained while driving. “My parents are eager to have Sonny back. They’ve always struggled with being apart from him. They’re older now, and Sonny is the only Brown grandson, which makes them miss him even more. However, I don’t plan to regain custody of him.”
He met Jessica’s gaze and continued, “You were the one who persuaded me to give up custody. I believe it’s best for Sonny to stay with Liberty. The people around her are in a different league than us.”
“If he’s with her, he’ll see his aunt every day. Serenity treats Sonny like her own. Having an aunt who is married into a wealthy family can be beneficial for his future. Even though I didn’t raise him much, I’m still his father and care deeply about his future.”
Given his parents’ personalities, they would likely try to separate Sonny from Liberty and her sister if they regained custody. If that were to happen, Serenity might hesitate to help her nephew.
This would indirectly impact Sonny’s future.
Hank would never allow that to occur.
“Jessica, you’re just too stressed right now. After the wedding, we’ll go on our honeymoon and enjoy ourselves. Who knows, you might even get pregnant.”
Jessica felt a pang of bitterness in her heart.
She was not

Jessica was anxious about not being able to get pregnant. She was also concerned about her family, fearing that the unknown woman might target them after witnessing her failure. However, she couldn’t bring herself to share this fear with Hank. If he discovered that she had collaborated with an outsider to kidnap Sonny, he would likely strangle her to death. Her in-laws would not be forgiving either.

“I really just like Sonny and want to bond with him as a mother and son,” she explained. Hank looked at her and smiled. “Okay, okay, you like Sonny. My son is adorable, so it’s natural for you to feel that way. Let’s talk about something else. I’ll take you shopping for some new clothes.”

He hadn’t given her a gift since they received their marriage license, so that night he took her shopping to rekindle the sweetness of their love, reminiscent of the past. The couple spent the night shopping, with Hank buying Jessica several new outfits and even a gold necklace from a jewelry store. They returned home feeling happy.

Jessica appreciated Hank’s generosity, but her mood quickly soured when she opened the door and saw her sister-in-law lounging on the sofa, watching TV. She attempted to head straight to the bedroom with her shopping bags.

“Stop,” Chelsea said, instructing her husband to bring Lucas home. Although Lucas had to attend preschool and couldn’t stay in the city for long, Chelsea continued to take advantage of her brother’s hospitality, aiming to undermine Jessica.
