Married at First Sight Chapter 1246

Chapter 1246
“Zachary,” Callum said in greeting.
Zachary glanced at Camryn and the bouquet of flowers she held before returning his gaze to his younger brother. He sighed softly, wrapped his arms around Serenity’s waist, and declared, “We’re leaving now.”
Without waiting for Callum’s response, he walked away with Serenity in his arms.
As they walked, Serenity turned to look back.
Zachary gently turned her face forward with his hand and said quietly, “I’m more handsome than Callum.”
“I’m not looking at Callum; I’m looking at Camryn. Wait, are you feeling jealous?”
“You’re looking at another man. Even if he’s my brother, I can’t help but feel jealous.”
Serenity was taken aback. “If we have a son in the future and I treat him well, will you be jealous of him too?”
“I won’t feel jealous if we have a daughter.”
“I also want a daughter to break your family’s record. Who knows if I’ll get the chance? I’d better prepare for a son. If you’re going to be jealous of your own son, then brace yourself for a lifetime of jealousy.”
Zachary’s expression darkened, clearly unhappy.
He thought to himself, ‘If we have a baby, and it turns out to be a boy, he might take my wife’s attention away from me. Seren might treat the baby better than she treats me. Should we consider birth control for now? I still want to enjoy some time alone with her.’
“I asked Josh to help me find a fortune teller to determine our family’s fate. Perhaps there’s something preventing the York family from having daughters.”
Zachary still very much desired a daughter.
This was not only his wish but also the wish of the York family for generations.
“Have you found one?”
“Not yet. True diviners are hard to come by.”

“Even if we have to search hard, I will find a fortune teller and seek their assistance, regardless of the cost. Let’s see if our generation can conceive a girl,” Zachary declared.

Serenity replied, “I’ve heard that fate plays a significant role as well. If the diviner doesn’t want to come, we can’t force them. Ask Nana if she knows any fortune tellers.”

As the couple strolled out of the office building toward Zachary’s car, their bodyguards returned Serenity’s vehicle.

Once inside the car, Zachary mentioned, “I heard that she once invited a fortune teller to Whitmore Mansion, where we celebrated New Year’s. She also invited him to Wildridge Manor when it was first built.”

“However, she mentioned that the diviner was already in his seventies when she invited him to Wildridge Manor, so he has likely passed away by now,” he added. Wildridge Manor had been constructed decades ago.

Serenity sighed. She found pseudoscience intriguing, even though she didn’t fully understand it. Despite her slight fear of the paranormal, she enjoyed hearing about it.

“We’ll just have to take our time finding another one,” she said. “If necessary, we can always try again for a girl later.”

Zachary placed his hand on her flat belly for a moment before withdrawing it. He said enviously, “If only we could be like Remy’s brother and sister-in-law. Both of his sisters-in-law had twins for their first pregnancies. His second sister-in-law had identical twins, and his oldest sister-in-law is nearly due too.”

Serenity laughed. “Having one son is already enough to make you envious. Imagine how much worse it would be if we had twin boys!”

Zachary was at a loss for words. He was hoping they could have fraternal twins or a pair of identical girls instead.
