“Mr. Callum, is that correct?”
Callum reflected on how briefly they had known each other. He felt it would be inappropriate for her to address him by his first name, so he remained silent and accepted her addition of “Mr.” to his name.
“Mr. Callum, regarding the Marshall family…”
Callum replied, “Since you delivered the bouquet as I requested, I’ll keep my promise. I’ll contact the hotel manager later and ask him to send someone to purchase flowers from your store.”
The Marshall family had instructed the hotel to set up the venue according to their specifications. They provided the hotel with their wishes, and the staff assured them that the banquet would be grand and impressive.
“Thank you, Mr. Callum.”
Camryn felt elated, believing her trip today was worthwhile.
She had secured two large orders.
Seeing her cheerful demeanor, Callum felt happy as well.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave now, Mr. Callum. I won’t interrupt your work any further.”
Camryn reached for her white cane and held it before standing up to depart. However, she remembered to remind Callum, “Mr. Callum, you haven’t given me the payment for the flowers.”
Callum promptly handed her two hundred dollars from his wallet without hesitation.
He instructed her to prepare a bouquet worth that amount.
After accepting the money, Camryn tucked it into her trouser pocket and turned to leave again.
Callum then picked up the bouquet of flowers, walked around the desk, and placed it into Camryn’s hands. “This is for you. Let’s go out together. It’s dinner time, and I’d like to treat you.”
Camryn was taken aback by his gesture.
He had previously asked her to personally deliver a bouquet, which she had done. She presumed he intended to give the bouquet to someone else.
A girl he liked. She didn’t anticipate him offering it to her so nonchalantly. The cash for the flowers slipped into her pocket, while the bouquet was handed back to her as well.
