Married at First Sight Chapter 1232

Chapter 1232
“A grandson–trolling nana.”
Serenity defended Grandma May. “How did Nana troll you? Everything she does is for your own good. Tell me, how exactly did she troll you?”
She nudged Zachary lightly, but he caught her wrist. “Seren, you haven’t washed your hands after petting the dog. Go wash your hands. Don’t use your dirty, fur-covered hands to touch or push me. You know I can’t stand the fur.”
Serenity was momentarily speechless.
Mrs. Lane smiled and said, “Go wash your hands, dear. I made you supper, and you can eat once your hands are clean.”
The mention of food was enough for Serenity to let Zachary off the hook this time.
Retrieving her hand from his grip, Serenity stood up to wash her hands. While doing so, she asked, “What did you make for me, Mrs. Lane?”
“Your favorite.”
Mrs. Lane signaled for Snowball to return to its doggie pen.
Snowball was an intelligent dog. Knowing that its charms would not impress its male owner, it chose not to roam the house. Instead, it obediently returned to its space and lay down.
Zachary did not typically eat supper. He turned on the TV, but nothing caught his interest. So, he went to his room, took a shower, and waited for his beloved wife in bed.
This was the couple’s routine after returning home.
The night passed.
Serenity and Liberty needed to return to their hometown today to sign a contract with the Hunt family, so All You Can Eat was closed for the day.
Despite his mother’s insistence, Duncan refused to leave Zachary’s place. He planned to have breakfast at All You Can Eat but woke up late, hurriedly cleaned himself up, and went out.
Upon arriving at the diner, he discovered that it was closed. However, someone was standing outside.
at the entrance.
The person looked familiar to Duncan; it was Jessica.
Jessica had come here to seek answers from Liberty.
This was a new task assigned to her by the unknown woman.
The woman wanted an update on Zachary and Clive’s investigative progress.
Jessica had been struggling over the past two days.
The guilt weighed heavily on her conscience as she committed a crime for the first time.
The worst part was that her sister-in-law was still in the city and hadn’t left.
Chelsea criticized everything Jessica did. The tension in the air and the chaos caused by Lucas were pushing Jessica to her limits. She wished Chelsea’s family would get hit by a truck.
“What are you doing here?” Duncan approached and asked Jessica bluntly.
Duncan’s abrupt question startled Jessica.
She turned to meet Duncan’s dark gaze. The menacing scar on his expressionless face sent chills down her spine. She took a few steps back.
“I–I… I’m here to have breakfast,” she stammered, struggling to concoct a lie.
Duncan glanced at the closed door and coldly inquired, “Where’s Liberty?”
“I don’t know. The door was closed when I arrived, and I haven’t seen Liberty or Sonny. Her workers aren’t here either,” she replied.
“Why are you standing here if Liberty isn’t open for business?”
Jessica quickly responded, “I–I’ll leave right now.”
Clutching her bag, Jessica hurried past Duncan.
The man was a terrifying sight.
She would likely have nightmares if she stared at him for too long.
