Married at First Sight Chapter 1229

Chapter 1229
Zachary’s heated lips were close enough to brush against Serenity’s cheek if she tilted her head back.
Setting the flowers down, Serenity freed herself from his embrace, stood up, and turned to face him directly.
“I inquired about Shawn. He returned because his mother was unwell. He took two days off, which combined with the weekend gave him four days to visit her.
“He considered stopping by to see Jas since he was near the bookshop, but he didn’t come specifically for me.
“Jas mentioned that Shawn called her beforehand to check if I was at the shop. He only visited when he was certain I wasn’t there. I happened to run into him just as he was leaving. Our conversation lasted no more than five minutes.
“Harry and Milo were outside watching. You know your bodyguards will support you if anything happens.”
Serenity playfully pinched his face. “Oh, you. You’re always so jealous. I’ve told you that I see Shawn as a younger brother. I don’t have any romantic feelings for him.”
Taking hold of her hand, Zachary leaned into her palm and gazed deeply into her eyes. In a husky voice, he murmured, “I’m bothered by the fact that you and Shawn have known each other for many years. He spent a lot more time with you than I have. Not to mention, he loved you too.”
“There’s nothing we can do about that. I met him first, and we’ve been friends for over a decade. Can you turn back time? If you could, I wouldn’t need to know him; I’d only want you in my life.”
The man often brought up her history with Shawn whenever jealousy surfaced.
Zachary pressed his lips together in silence.
He had no power over time. If he did, he would rewind it and grow up alongside Serenity.
Noticing his lingering discomfort, Serenity softened her tone to soothe him. “Shawn has moved on, babe. Shawn…

You may be the first to truly know me, and our friendship has spanned years, but you will be the one who remains with me for the rest of my life.

“You could have decades with me if I pass away in my eighties. Isn’t that longer than Shawn?”

Zachary replied, “We’ll live to be a hundred.”

He then added, “You say Shawn’s name so effortlessly.”

Serenity responded, “Okay, I won’t refer to him by name. He’s Mr. Lowe to me.”

She continued to comfort him, saying, “Now, enough of the jealousy.”

“Just try not to see him again.”

“Alright, I promise. He’s hardly ever in Wiltspoon anyway.”

“Call me babe. Always call me babe,” Zachary insisted, clearly enjoying the moment.

Serenity typically referred to him as Zachary or Mr. York, using terms of endearment only when he was upset.

“Okay, okay. Babe. You’re a babe. You’re acting like such a baby,” she teased.

Zachary replied, “It sounds strange coming from you.”

“I’m more accustomed to saying your name.”

With a smile, Serenity pulled his head down and kissed his face, then purred, “Babe.”

An electrifying sensation surged through his body.

Now that was something special.

As the tension in his facial muscles eased, Serenity let out a sigh of relief.

The jealous man was finally calmed.

“When can we go back?”
