Chapter 1223
“Jasmine’s back!”
Someone spotted Jasmine and shouted excitedly.
The crowd gathered at the Soxes’ residence parted, forming two rows.
Jasmine took a good look at the people at the gate; most were townsfolk and nearby tenants, all smiling at her.
As the crowd moved aside, Jasmine finally saw what had captured everyone’s attention: a massive display of flowers.
Standing next to the floral arrangement was Josh, holding a bouquet of roses and grinning widely at her.
Jasmine stopped her bike.
“Go on, Jas,” Drake urged, pulling his sister forward.
Jasmine was drawn to the floral display, which was composed entirely of roses. Josh had used thousands of them to spell out a message.
[Marry me, Jasmine!]
Josh was proposing.
After much consideration, he had chosen to go the cheesy route and create words with the flowers, believing it would be beautiful and romantic. This way, he could propose to Jasmine in front of everyone.
Jasmine was either at the bookshop or at home.
Concerned about disrupting students since the bookshop was located in front of the school, Josh decided to set up the flower display at her house instead. This way, the Soxes could witness his feelings for Jasmine.
He wanted Jasmine to be his wife.
The Buchams and the Soxes had long hoped for the couple to marry.
Mrs. Bucham would often visit the Soxes, and the elders of both families had much to discuss. They had been eagerly waiting for Josh to propose so they could begin planning the wedding.
“Isn’t it beautiful, Jas? Josh arranged the words with flowers himself, and it took him a long time to do it. He bought all the roses…”
from every florist in Wiltspoon, many had to restock.” Jasmine gazed at the letters arranged in flowers. The sea of red cast a rosy glow on her face and warmed her heart. Josh had always been a romantic; although his proposal was a bit cheesy, she recognized its beauty.
Holding a bouquet, Josh approached her. Drake stepped aside, leaving the spotlight for Josh. Everyone was watching, some even recording videos to capture the couple’s joyful and thrilling moment.
Josh knelt before Jasmine and offered her the bouquet. With tenderness, he asked, “I love you, Jasmine. Will you marry me? I will love, cherish, and honor you for the rest of my days.”
Jasmine looked into his eyes, seeing the affection reflected back at her. Anticipation, mixed with a touch of nervousness and fear, was evident on his face. He must have been worried she might reject his proposal.
“Say yes, Jasmine. Mr. Bucham is so good to you. Even I, as an old lady, am touched by him,” one of Jasmine’s aunts said with a smile.
“Yeah, Jasmine. You and Mr. Bucham make a cute couple. You’re perfect for each other.”
“Jasmine…”
“Jasmine…”
Many of the onlookers were townspeople and Jasmine’s relatives, all hoping from the bottom of their hearts that she would accept Josh’s proposal.
Turning her head, Jasmine caught sight of her parents standing by the door. Shawn and Aunt Rachel were also there, likely visiting the Sox family and coincidentally witnessing Josh’s proposal.
