Married at First Sight Chapter 1205

Chapter 1205
“Mm, he mentioned there’s a lunch appointment scheduled for the afternoon.”
Tania replied casually, “Just tell him you won’t be going. We’ve never had the chance to eat out or shop together before. Zack won’t argue with me about this.”
Rumors had been circulating that she had a strained relationship with Serenity. It was said that while Serenity frequently attended banquets with Mrs. Stone, she was seldom seen returning to the manor to spend time with her mother-in-law; they hadn’t dined together in public or shopped together either.
Tania chose to disregard the gossip. She was fully aware of the nature of her relationship with Serenity.
Nevertheless, whenever she joined her friends for card games, they would inevitably bring it up, which irritated her.
Tania decided to abandon the card games and seek out her daughter-in-law right away. She intended to take her shopping at high-end boutiques, aiming to counter the rumors with tangible actions.
This was the reason for Tania’s unexpected visit.
“Alright.”
Serenity was about to call Zachary when he called her first.
She answered the call in front of her mother-in-law.
Zachary was not concerned that his mother would mistreat Serenity.
His mother had previously considered Serenity unworthy of him, feeling secretly discontented but never expressing harsh words or making things difficult for his wife.
When others criticized Serenity for being intrusive and contacting his mother, his mother’s refined demeanor as Mrs. York was compromised. She chastised them to defend Serenity, showcasing the York family’s protective nature.
While Serenity and his mother wouldn’t clash, Zachary still wanted to understand why his mother had suddenly visited Serenity’s bookstore.
“Mom wants to… I’ll let Mom take it from here.”

“Talk to you.” Serenity smiled as she handed the phone to her mother-in-law. “Mom, you can tell Zachary now.”

Tania took the phone and spoke to her son. “Zack, you don’t need to pick Serenity up anymore. I’m borrowing your wife for half a day.”

Zachary asked, “Mom, what are you up to?”

“Nothing much. I just want to have a meal and go shopping with Serenity. I don’t think I’ve ever bought her a gift before, so I want to choose something she’ll like.”

Zachary could guess his mother’s intentions.

“Did those gossiping women talk nonsense in front of you again?”

Tania remained silent, which he interpreted as agreement.

Zachary frowned. Those women loved to gossip. They no longer dared to call his mother, but rumors still managed to reach her.

To counteract those rumors, the best course of action would be for Serenity and Tania to appear together, demonstrating their strong relationship.

Zachary felt displeased that his mother had taken his wife, who had initially planned to accompany him for lunch. However, he couldn’t confront his mother over the matter.

“You can borrow my wife, but remember to return her to me by tonight.”

The possessive Mr. York reluctantly gave up his wife.

Tania smiled and replied, “Don’t worry. I know. I won’t monopolize Serenity.”

Serenity was taken aback.

Tania handed the phone back to Serenity. She knew she couldn’t be affectionate with Zachary in front of her mother-in-law. She had heard that most mothers-in-law dislike seeing their daughters-in-law being affectionate with their sons, as it gives the impression that the son they raised is being taken away.

When they were with Tania, Serenity made sure her interactions with Zachary remained proper.

mother-in-law.
