A ringtone sounded.

It was Serenity’s phone.

Her instincts told her it was her husband calling.

When she checked her phone, she saw that it was indeed Zachary.

“My husband’s calling me,” Serenity informed her two best friends.

Jasmine, being tactful, walked away to retrieve a novel she hadn’t finished from a

bookshelf.

Elisa laughed and said, “I should head back too. If there are no issues with the contract, I’ll have someone sign it with the mayor. Our project can start afterward.”

As she spoke, she grabbed her bag and left.

Serenity smiled and answered Zachary’s call.

“Honey.”

Zachary’s voice was warm and inviting, deliberately captivating his wife with his tone.

Serenity found it hard to resist and shuddered. She laughed and said, “Just tell me what you want, Zachary. You don’t need to seduce me.”

Zachary was momentarily speechless.

“Why are you laughing? I heard you laugh when you picked up. What’s so funny?”

Zachary reverted to his usual demeanor.

His wife preferred his natural self over his intentional gentleness.

“Nothing. Aren’t you busy?”

“I’ll be off work in half an hour,” Zachary reminded his beloved. Time flew by.

“Oh, are you coming over for dinner? I remember you mentioning a lunch appointment and that you wouldn’t be able to stop by before heading out this morning.”

Zachary rubbed his temples, feeling fatigued after a busy morning.

“Seren, I want you to accompany me to a meeting.”

Serenity was taken aback. Hesitantly, she replied, “I—I’m not fully prepared.”

“You’ll be embarrassed if I make a mistake during the meeting,” Serenity said with a hint of apprehension.

“You’ve been learning from your aunt for a while now; it’s time to put that knowledge into practice. I’ll teach you how to socialize at a meeting. Don’t worry—I’m not afraid of embarrassment,” Zachary replied gently, encouraging Serenity to join him.

While Serenity was generally self-confident, she felt a bit timid at the thought of attending a meeting with Zachary’s high-profile business associates. The thought of sharing a meal with such prominent figures made her nervous, especially as a novice investor.

However, she quickly dismissed those feelings. She reasoned that if she spoke less, listened more, and observed her surroundings, she would be fine. She wouldn’t interfere with her husband’s discussions, and in the process, she could learn from the experts.

“Alright, I’ll go, but Sonny is asleep, and my sister isn’t here yet,” Serenity said.

Jasmine, who had been peeking out from behind a bookshelf, immediately chimed in, “Just go, Seren. I’ll watch Sonny for you. Liberty should arrive soon.”

Zachary paused for a moment before responding, “You can come over after your sister arrives. I scheduled a meeting with my client at half past twelve in the presidential suite at Wiltspoon Hotel.”

After the meeting and lunch, he could also relax in the suite with Serenity.

While Zachary genuinely wanted Serenity to learn alongside him, he also looked forward to enjoying some quality time together as husband and wife.

“Okay,” Serenity agreed, though she still felt uneasy about leaving Sonny. She wanted to wait for her sister to arrive.
