Married at First Sight Chapter 1181

Chapter 1181

“Ahem…” Grandma May cleared her throat. When Duncan looked at her, she reminded him, “Duncan, Sonny isn’t scared of the robbers, but rather of you. Just look at how he’s struggling to get away from you and onto the ground.”

“Dunc, let go of me,” Sonny urged again.

The little boy’s face was tense, clearly indicating his frustration. Duncan was too strong, and Sonny couldn’t break free from his grasp.

Duncan quickly set Sonny down and squatted beside him. He gently grasped Sonny’s shoulders and said, “Sonny, as long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters.”

Sonny looked up at Duncan with his big, sparkling eyes. He could feel that Duncan treated him well.

Sonny sensed Duncan’s genuine affection for him. Duncan was not teasing; he truly cared.

Sonny lifted his small hand and touched the scar on Duncan’s face. He lightly brushed it, then quickly pulled back his hand as if afraid. When he saw that Duncan showed no sign of pain, he reached out again to touch the scar.

“Dunc, does it hurt?” he asked.

“Not anymore,” Duncan replied.

The pain had been intense when Duncan was injured, and his handsome face was smeared with blood. His mother had been so terrified that her legs gave way, fearing he might die from the serious injury.

Duncan’s elderly grandmother had nearly died from the shock of hearing about his injury. Even after learning that it was just a scar, her fear worsened her condition, and she passed away shortly thereafter.

In the aftermath, Duncan felt deep regret and decided to turn his life around. He left behind the so-called underworld and began anew.

He kept the scar as a reminder of his youthful defiance and as a testament to the fact that his reckless choices had contributed to his grandmother’s untimely death. The doctor had said that his grandmother…

She could have lived for three to five more years with proper care and good health. Before her passing, her greatest concern remained her little grandson.

Chapter 1181

She touched the scar on Duncan’s face, wanting to say something but finding herself unable to. In the end, her frail hand slipped away, and at that moment, Duncan lost the grandmother who loved him most. For many years, he refrained from undergoing cosmetic surgery, despite his family’s suggestions.

“But it’s so frightening,” he remarked quietly.

Sonny commented softly, “It looks like a bug bite.”

Duncan fell silent. He had a strong fondness for Sonny, though he couldn’t quite explain why. Perhaps it was fate, but Sonny consistently refused to be carried by him. Everyone claimed that Sonny was afraid of the scar on Duncan’s face.

At that moment, as Duncan listened to Sonny’s gentle words, he felt Sonny’s small hand touch his scar. There was fear in Sonny’s eyes, but also… a look of concern.

The little one empathized with Duncan’s pain.

Duncan pulled Sonny into an embrace, releasing him after a brief moment. He then stood up and casually said to Grandma May, “Make more food. I’m eating here.”

“You arrived just in time, or else you would have only had instant noodles once the food is ready,” Grandma May laughed. “There are no instant noodles here. Zack and Seren don’t eat them, so we don’t keep any at home.”

Duncan smiled in response, saying, “I’m not picky. I’ll eat whatever you’ve got.”

He greeted Elisa as he spotted her.

Elisa glanced between Duncan and Sonny, teasing him, “If Sonny were a girl of legal age, I’d think you had a crush on him. You looked at him just now with such affection that your eyes nearly turned into heart shapes.”

Jasmine commented, “Mr. Lewis doesn’t see Sonny as a girl; he sees him as his child. What he’s showing is fatherly love.” Liberty was left speechless. If she were to assert that Duncan’s feelings for Sonny were indeed fatherly love, wouldn’t that imply that she and Duncan were a couple, considering she was Sonny’s mother?
