Chapter 1178
“Choosing to learn self-defense is a personal decision for an ordinary person, but right now… Sonny needs to learn how to fight and protect himself.”
Zachary had always believed in Sonny’s potential. He envisioned taking the boy under his wing once he was older.
Now, Zachary was simply implementing that plan ahead of schedule.
“That’s true. Okay, we’ll go with your suggestion. Thank you, babe.”
Serenity was grateful to Zachary for helping Sonny unlock his potential and creativity, and she expressed her appreciation.
Zachary held Sonny in one arm and playfully tapped Serenity’s nose with his free hand, saying, “You always call me Zachary, but suddenly I’m ‘babe’ when discussing finding a coach for Sonny. Does he hold a bigger place in your heart than I do?”
Serenity smiled and replied, “You both hold equal places. No, you actually take up a bigger space in my heart.”
Sonny was just a child, while Zachary was an adult, so naturally, Zachary occupied more space in her heart.
Not catching the underlying message, Zachary lovingly tapped her nose again. “I won’t be jealous of Sonny.”
“Great. Just imagine the jealousy when we have a baby if you can be envious of a three-year-old.”
“I will only love our baby. I won’t compete with a baby for your love and attention.”
Zachary was confident he would shower the baby with affection. Why would he compete with an infant?
Of course, he might end up eating those words.
Serenity chuckled.
Yeah, right. Zachary was a possessive man, and Serenity doubted he would refrain from competing with a baby for her affection.
Back at the city center, Zachary took Serenity and Liberty to Brynfield. Grandma May was already aware of their arrival.
She had been waiting at Brynfield.
Upon hearing that someone
As Grandma May approached the entrance, the door opened to reveal Serenity holding Sonny’s hand. She quickly scooped the boy into her arms, exclaiming, “Oh, thank God. Thank God,” as she repeatedly expressed her relief.
Clive and Elisa had also gone to Brynfrield. While Clive and Zachary might not have the best business relationship, they both recognized the necessity of collaborating to uncover the truth behind the incident. If it turned out to be an unintentional mistake, they could protect their families by enhancing security measures. However, if it was something more sinister, they needed to identify the mastermind behind it to prevent further occurrences.
The incident at the zoo swiftly became breaking news in Wiltspoon. Cameras captured Zachary and Clive, along with their security teams, picking someone up at the zoo. Although many were unaware of whose children had fallen victim to the kidnapping, Duncan immediately thought of Sonny when he saw the news. This was because Zachary and his wife had no children, and Clive’s baby was still on the way.
Duncan’s thoughts raced to Sonny, knowing that if anything happened to him, Zachary and Clive would be the first to arrive on the scene as Sonny’s uncles. Instead of calling Liberty, he dialed Zachary’s number. After receiving confirmation, Duncan found it impossible to remain still in his office. Although he knew Sonny was safe, he needed to see him in person to feel at ease.
Deciding to leave work behind, Duncan hurried out of his office and ran into his mother and Lily at the elevator.
