Chapter 1168
While Jessica’s mother only lost a small amount of hair, it was enough to terrify Jessica. It wouldn’t take much for these people to threaten her family’s safety.
Despite her strained relationship with her family over the bridal gift, they were still her family. She could not allow anything to happen to them in order to protect an outsider like Sonny.
Today seemed like the perfect opportunity to execute her plan.
Serenity asked, “Is your mom going?”
“Yes, Mom is going. Are you coming, Aunt Ser?”
After some contemplation, Serenity responded, “What time are you leaving? I’ll see if I can fit it into my schedule.”
“Mom said we can leave in about half an hour. Aunt Ser, please come with us. I want to see the tigers at the zoo.”
Sonny had been eager to visit the zoo since his last attempt, which fell through when he chose to go out with his aunt instead.
The zoo remained a magical place in his eyes.
Now that he had the chance again, he was truly excited to go.
“Okay, I’ll join you,” Serenity agreed.
Although the thought of an outing with the Browns was unappealing, her sister’s safety was her priority.
The Browns had changed their strategy; they were trying to spend time with Sonny and fight for custody.
The entire family was involved in this effort. With her sister going alone, what were the odds of her winning against such a large group?
Even though Serenity was just one person, she was fortunate to be married to Zachary. Her social status should be enough to intimidate the Brown family.
At the very least, the Browns would think twice before taking advantage of her sister now that Serenity would be joining the outing.
Sonny excitedly exclaimed, “Hurry up and get here, Aunt Ser. I see Aunt Elisa. I’ll ask her if she wants to come too. Hurry, Aunt Ser. I’m hanging up!”
“Okay. I’ll be right there,” Serenity said affectionately.
Sonny handed the phone back to his mother and dashed outside.
Elisa had just stepped out of the car when her nephew came running towards her. Before she could speak, the boy reached her and wrapped his arms around her leg. Looking up at her, Sonny exclaimed, “Aunt Elisa!”
His charming face was enough to melt Elisa’s heart.
Bending down, she picked Sonny up and smiled, “You must have missed me to come rushing out like that.”
“I miss you, Aunt Elisa. I miss you and Aunt Ser every day. I have something to tell you, Aunt Elisa.”
As Elisa carried Sonny towards the diner, she asked with a grin, “Oh really? What do you want to tell me?”
“Dad is taking Mom and me to the zoo. I asked Aunt Ser, and she’s going too. Do you want to come with us, Aunt Elisa? Let’s go together!”
Elisa raised an eyebrow.
So, Hank was planning to take Liberty and Sonny to the zoo?
Upon entering the diner and spotting the Brown family, Elisa frowned and asked, “Liberty, did they do anything to you?”
“Ms. Stone, we’re here to invite Liberty and Sonny on a family trip. We mean no harm,” Hank quickly explained.
He was intimidated by Elisa.
Though Serenity had become Mrs. York, she had once been Hank’s sister-in-law and didn’t instill the same fear in him.
In fact, the Hunt sisters were generally lenient with the Browns for Sonny’s sake.
