Callum felt deceived by Serenity. Although he was unhappy about it, he refrained from expressing his feelings. He said, “Serenity, I’ll head back to work since you’ve resolved the issue.”
“Go ahead. You came here in vain because of me. I’ll inform your brother and ask him to grant you a half-day off tomorrow,” she replied.
Amused, Callum responded, “Serenity, couldn’t you be generous and ask him for a full day off instead?”
On the phone, Serenity laughed, “Alright. I’ll arrange for you to have a full day off. I’ll let your brother know when I get back tonight. You can return to work now.”
With that, Serenity hung up the phone with a smile. She turned to her best friend and said, “Camryn is the wife Nana chose for Callum.”
Jasmine inquired, “How could Grandma May allow Mr. Callum to be with her since she’s blind?”
“Camryn just mentioned that while she is indeed blind now, that doesn’t mean she will always be. There must be a reason Nana chose her. Given Camryn’s current situation, Callum can protect and support her,” Serenity explained.
“So did you hastily call Callum over to create a chance for them?” Jasmine asked.
Serenity chuckled. “I just wanted to find out the answer quickly.”
Having watched many shows featuring Serenity and Zachary, it was now Serenity’s turn to enjoy the drama.
Jasmine exclaimed, “Seren, we’re best friends! You must include me when there’s a good show.”
“I’m inviting you to join now, aren’t I?” Serenity replied.
They exchanged smiles and laughter.
