Married at First Sight Chapter 1145

Chapter 1145
Camryn had requested her store assistant to help measure her steps since she was visually impaired. Due to her short stride, she required four steps to cover approximately three feet. While a thousand feet was not an exact measurement, she knew she had to walk over a thousand steps.
As she walked slowly, Camryn was mentally counting her steps.
Mrs. Newman was unconcerned about Camryn’s pace.
After rolling up her window, Mrs. Newman called her husband. When he answered, she said, “Darling, I had Camryn meet Serenity.”
Mr. Newman hummed in acknowledgment before responding, “You need to speak to Camryn kindly. That way, she’ll be more willing to plead for mercy on Carrie’s behalf.”
“Does she dare to deny my requests?”
Mr. Newman choked, unable to respond.
“Darling, see if you can pull some strings to help save Carrie. She’s been spoiled since childhood. How can she endure the hardships there?”
“Just thinking about her suffering breaks my heart. It’s all Camryn’s fault. If it weren’t for her, the Hunt girl wouldn’t have clashed with Carrie.”
“Carrie confronted the Hunt girl only because she felt wronged, but her plan backfired. The Hunt girl has leverage over Carrie. I really wish Camryn would just disappear. Why is she still alive?”
“Honey.”
On the phone, Mr. Newman said, “Now isn’t the time to express your anger. I understand your frustration and sympathize with Carrie, as I do too. Let’s see how Camryn’s plea turns out. If the Hunt girl insists on pressing charges, we can devise another plan.”
Mrs. Newman suppressed her anger but sighed, “Ugh.”
“You can go back to your work. I just wanted to update you on this.”
With that, Mrs. Newman hung up the phone.
Serenity was…

Unaware that Camryn had arrived, Serenity’s two bodyguards occupied two stools at the entrance of the bookstore. They soon spotted Camryn approaching. At the same time, those stationed at the door received a message from their colleagues who were discreetly watching over Serenity. After confirming Camryn’s identity, one of the bodyguards stood up and entered the bookstore.

Serenity was focused on her computer when she heard footsteps. She turned her gaze from the screen to the bodyguard and softly asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Missus, Ms. Newman is here,” the bodyguard replied.

Serenity was momentarily taken aback before asking, “Ms. Newman is here? Where is she?”

“She’s on her way here.”

Realizing that Camryn was visually impaired, Serenity sprang to her feet, walked past the counter, and headed outside.

“Seren, who is coming?”

When Jasmine saw her friend leave, she closed the book she had been reading and quickly returned it to the shelf before following Serenity.

“Ms. Newman. She’s blind,” Serenity responded.

Jasmine was stunned.

“A blind lady?”

“Are you talking about the same Ms. Newman that you and Elisa helped before?” Jasmine asked, suddenly connecting the dots.

Serenity nodded in confirmation as she continued walking.

Once outside the bookstore, she spotted someone walking slowly.

As the school gate opened, a car drove out and turned left, heading toward Camryn.

The driver noticed Camryn walking in the middle of the road and honked the horn. Startled, Camryn quickly moved aside to avoid the vehicle. However, being visually impaired and anxious, she dodged so hastily that she fell onto the road. By the time she got up after the car had passed, she was disoriented and unsure of where to go.
