Married at First Sight Chapter 1141

Chapter 1141
Elisa was unaware that Clive would return. Upon entering the hotel café on the first floor with Remy, Remy ordered her a glass of fruit juice and himself a cup of coffee.
“Aren’t you worried about trouble sleeping if you drink coffee now?”
Elisa also ordered some pastries.
“Not at all. I have a huge workload to tackle, and without coffee, I won’t be able to stay awake late into the night,” he replied.
His work schedule was so demanding that he often found himself working late hours each day.
However, if he ever had a chance to celebrate one of the most significant days of his life, he would definitely make time to unwind.
“Elisa.”
Shortly after they began conversing, Clive entered and spotted them sitting by the window. As he approached, he called out to his sister.
Elisa turned her head and was startled to see her brother walking toward her, feeling as if she had been caught by their parents.
Wait. Just moments ago, when she bumped into him at the hotel entrance, he had realized she was having coffee with Remy.
Why was she feeling guilty?
With this thought, Elisa graciously pulled out a chair for Clive. Once he was seated, she asked, “Clive, what would you like to drink?”
“Mr. Stone,” Remy greeted Clive with a smile.
Clive glanced at Remy before responding to his sister, “I’ve had quite a bit to drink already, so I’m fine without anything. I’ll just sit here.”
Elisa slid the pastry she had ordered over to her brother.
Clive didn’t eat it, as he intentionally positioned himself as a third wheel.
Although Clive admired Remy’s excellence and was interested in collaborating with FC & Co., Remy had opted to work with York Corporation instead. Thus, Clive and Remy remained mere acquaintances. If Remy had been a rising star at Wiltspoon, Clive would have been

Clive was more than ready to see his sister enter a relationship with Remy. However, Remy was from Annenburg, which was a considerable distance from Wiltspoon. A drive along the highway would take seven to eight hours, making it a long journey.

Elisa was Clive’s only sister, and he couldn’t bear the thought of her marrying into a family that lived so far away. As Elisa and Remy had not yet started dating, Clive covertly tried to prevent their connection so his sister wouldn’t fall too deeply in love.

“Mr. Johnson, what made you decide to buy this villa?” Clive asked, seeking a conversation starter with Remy. “You’re not short on cash; you could have purchased a new villa instead of a pre-owned one.”

Remy replied, “Even though the villa is second-hand, it offers a large area and great accessibility. The security system is excellent, and the neighbors are either affluent individuals or celebrities. You were interested in it too, weren’t you?”

Clive choked.

He had considered buying the villa because it was near his own home. He had plans to connect the two properties, effectively expanding his residence. However, Remy, who hailed from Annenburg, already owned a villa in Wiltspoon where he typically lived. Clive felt there was no reason for Remy to buy such a large property unless he intended to settle down in Wiltspoon or flip it for a profit.

“You have a place to live, Mr. Johnson.”

“And so do you, Mr. Stone.”

Remy chuckled and said, “I’m not lacking in funds, so I buy a house whenever I feel like it. I genuinely like this house, which is why I purchased it.”

Clive was left speechless.

Wealthy individuals often owned multiple properties, usually amassing quite a collection. Clive’s line of questioning didn’t seem to hold much weight.

“Mr. Johnson,

“Are you considering settling down in Wiltspoon?” Clive wondered. He thought that if Remy became a citizen of Wiltspoon, he would support his sister’s relationship with him. Given that his sister was quite particular, she rarely showed interest in any man. Although there were many young talents in Wiltspoon, her focus remained solely on men from York.

Because of the relationship between Zachary and Serenity, Elisa could not possibly marry anyone from the Yorks. Other wealthy men simply could not compete with the Yorks in terms of competence, status, or appearance. In contrast, Remy excelled in every area. Additionally, he came from a large family that was well-suited to the Stones.
