Serenity was unaware that Callum had started to approach Camryn. After Zachary dropped her off at the bookstore, she chatted with Jasmine for a while until her former classmates, whom she had invited to help with crafting, arrived. Serenity instructed them to create a small trinket based on her
guidelines.
First, she needed to ensure their skills were sharp, so she retrieved a variety of materials from the small storeroom and distributed them to everyone to take home for weaving.
After sending them off, Serenity turned to head back into the store when Elisa pulled up in her car. She observed Elisa parking in front of the bookstore and stepping out of the vehicle.

Elisa approached Serenity with a smile. “Were you waiting
for me?”
Serenity chuckled. “I just noticed you arriving as I was seeing my former classmates off.”
Elisa glanced around and inquired, “Were those the classmates you invited to assist with your crafts?”
“Yes. Now I can relax a lot more and earn money with you all. By the way, we have a banquet to attend tonight.”
Serenity recalled the last banquet she had attended at the Dowling residence. She and Elisa had offended Carrie by helping Camryn because they couldn’t stand by and watch Carrie attempt to sabotage her own sister.
That spoiled girl had even hired thugs to block her car and vandalize it. It was reminiscent of Noah’s actions.

“Those two men look familiar,” Elisa remarked as she noticed the bodyguards sitting outside the bookstore. She smiled and said, “My cousin-in-law arranged for them to follow you because he’s worried someone might try to steal you away, right?”
“No,” she replied. “He arranged for them to follow me because he’s concerned about my safety.”
Elisa chuckled and entered the store with Serenity. “You’re the missus of the York family. It’s only natural for you to have a few bodyguards with you. I sometimes go out with some as well.”
However, she usually preferred to go out alone, enjoying the sense of freedom that came with solitude.
When Jasmine saw Elisa arrive, she retrieved some fruit from the refrigerator, washed it, arranged it in a bowl, and served it to her friends.
“Seren and Jas, I came here to discuss the fields. The meeting went well, and the village chiefs from various areas have no objections to our proposal. They will hold a meeting to gather everyone else’s opinions and discuss pricing. Once everyone is on board, we can sign the lease based on the land size.”
