The aroma wafted through the kitchen as Serenity embraced Zachary from behind. She rested her face against his back and purred, “Babe.”
Her alluring voice had the power to make Zachary melt.
As Zachary turned around for a morning cuddle and kiss, he noticed Grandma May entering from the balcony.
She walked into the kitchen and unexpectedly stumbled upon the couple kissing.
Wanting to act as if she weren’t there, Grandma May tried to sneak away, but Zachary spotted her.
Upon hearing Zachary call for his nana, Serenity quickly released her hold on him and turned to Grandma May, her face flushed a deep scarlet.
“Zack, have you seen my reading glasses? I can’t find them. Oh, I’m getting old; I can’t see without them,” Grandma May said.
She pivoted to leave, mumbling to herself, “I put them on the coffee table, but now they’re gone.”
Both Zachary and Serenity knew that Grandma May never actually wore reading glasses.
“Did Nana come home last night?” Serenity whispered the question once Grandma May left the room.
Zachary’s gaze deepened as he took in Serenity in her pajamas, reminding him of the first time she had opened the door in those same pajamas after they got married.
“Go back to your room and change. You should only wear that when it’s just us at home. Of course, I wouldn’t mind sexier lingerie, but I prefer you covered when there’s someone else around,” he advised.
Serenity playfully pinched his arm and replied in a hushed tone, “I thought we were alone at home! You didn’t even tell me Nana was back. Thank goodness I didn’t do anything embarrassing.”
The thought of that made her feel utterly mortified.
While her pajamas were relatively modest, she had a habit of removing her bra while sleeping…
Realizing this, Serenity crossed her arms over her chest. “I’m going back.
“to the room to change.” She quietly returned to the bedroom. Zachary laughed softly. There was no reason to feel embarrassed in his presence.
