Chapter 952
Since Serenity and Zachary had started living apart, Mrs. Lane returned to Brynfield every day to tidy up and water the flowers on the balcony. She no longer stayed there and had returned to the manor, her original residence.
Sam, the housekeeper who had recently returned from his leave, provided Mrs. Lane with a car for her convenience.
“Missus.”
After finishing mopping the floor, Mrs. Lane noticed Serenity arriving and greeted her with respect.
“You can just call me Ms. Hunt like before, Mrs. Lane. Please don’t call me Missus; it sounds odd to me.”
She didn’t act superior in front of Mrs. Lane.
Mrs. Lane felt it was inappropriate and replied, “Mr. Zachary will deduct my bonus if he finds out.”
“You’ll get used to it with daily repetition,” Serenity said.
Serenity was at a loss for words. All Zachary seemed to know was how to threaten people.
She walked into the store.
Jasmine noticed her arrival and examined her from head to toe.
“What? Don’t you recognize me?”
Jasmine laughed. “You look great today! You seem to be in good spirits. Did something happen?”
“Yep, I bumped into a handsome guy by chance. He’s way better looking than Zachary.”
Jasmine grinned mischievously. “There’s no way that’s true. No man in Wiltspoon is more attractive than your husband. Even Josh doesn’t compare.”
Josh was a bit of a meddler, which was one of his flaws.
However, Jasmine appreciated his meddling tendencies since she had them too.
When they got together, they could talk about anyone and anything.
“Have you reconciled with Mr. York? It’s been ages, and I’ve noticed your anger has faded. Since you’re no longer upset, just make up with him. Josh looks like he’s about to collapse from all his headaches. He
“It’s said that Mr. York torments everyone in the company until they’re on the verge of tears,” she remarked. Serenity replied nonchalantly, “He inflicts pain on himself and others as well.” For example, his gastritis is a case in point. She had just sent him to the hospital for a doctor’s visit last night, but she didn’t share that detail with her best friend.
“By the way, when is Liberty’s store opening for business? I told my family in the group chat to go support her on opening day,” Jasmine asked. Serenity felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude; her best friend was truly remarkable, and she considered herself fortunate to have Jasmine in her life.
“She’s opening next Monday. Her target audience is the local workers, so she chose that day. After a weekend of activities, people often don’t feel like cooking breakfast at the start of the week, so they’ll likely choose to eat out,” Serenity explained, noting the timing of Liberty’s breakfast store launch.
“I’ll be going to help on that day,” Jasmine said. “Of course, do you need my assistance as well?”
