Married at First Sight Chapter 908

Chapter 908
When the two hounds saw Josh, they stopped barking and began wagging their tails in greeting.
Josh often visited the Sox residence under the pretext of spending time with Drake. His regular appearances led Mrs. Sox to mistakenly believe that Josh had a romantic interest in Drake, but they also allowed him to bond with the two hounds.
Drake came to the door and asked, “Are you here for me?”
Josh smiled and replied, “You wish! I’m actually here for your sister.”
Drake grinned, saying, “I found out yesterday that my mom thought you had a crush on me. Haha! That was hilarious.”
“I’m surprised Mrs. Sox misunderstood,” Josh responded.
“Well, you always come looking for me. Anyway, my sister’s getting dressed upstairs. She mentioned she doesn’t mind if you come by, but she hasn’t decided what to wear yet. Oh, women! It’s one of those no-means-yes situations.”
Josh chided him, “Don’t speak ill of your sister in front of me.”
Drake teased, “Are you already on her side?”
“Drake, is that Josh? Oh, it is Josh! Come on in,” Mrs. Sox called from the doorway.
Josh handed a gift to Mrs. Sox and shyly said, “Mrs. Sox, I wasn’t sure what you and Mr. Sox would like, so I picked up a little something I thought was nice. I hope you like it.”
“Oh, you didn’t have to do that! Mr. Sox and I are just happy you came,” she replied.
In truth, they were relieved—finally, their single daughter had caught the attention of a remarkable young man.
They had initially feared their son might marry a man, but it had all been a misunderstanding, which was yet another reason for their relief.
As Josh stepped inside, he greeted Mr. Sox shyly.
Mr. Sox smiled back warmly, his expression friendlier than before.
Now that the misunderstanding had been cleared up, Mr. Sox began to see Josh in a more favorable light.

Gesturing for Josh to sit down, Mrs. Sox said to her son, “Tell your sister to come down. Josh is here. We should head to your aunt’s place.”

“Alright,” Drake replied as he hurried upstairs to summon his sister.

Mr. Sox offered Josh a cigarette.

Josh waved his hand and responded, “I don’t smoke, Mr. Sox.”

Mrs. Sox chimed in, “That’s a good habit. Jasmine doesn’t like men who smoke.”

Josh was well aware of that fact.

He only smoked on rare occasions, keeping cigarettes and a lighter on hand for social gatherings.

Mrs. Sox poured Josh a drink before sitting down in front of him. With a smile, she asked, “Does your family know about you and Jasmine?”

Josh thought to himself, ‘Is the meeting with the parents coming up soon?’

With an embarrassed smile, he replied, “I plan to tell my family when I finally get Jasmine to be my girlfriend, Mrs. Sox.”

He worried that his family might scare Jasmine away with their overly enthusiastic friendliness.

“Okay. I have high hopes for you. You can do it. I have a gift for you, and you’ll receive an even bigger present when you call me Mom.”
