Married at First Sight Chapter 806

Chapter 806
“Zachary isn’t in the office? He hasn’t come in today?”
Serenity couldn’t believe it.
Where could he be if not at work?
Didn’t he have an interview in his office?
She remembered that the background for his interview looked fancy, but it was unfamiliar to her. She had never seen that type of decor before.
She assumed it was his office, though she had never actually been inside.
Despite visiting York Corporation multiple times, Zachary had never taken her to his real office. He had deceived her, claiming that everyone worked at cubicle desks.
If she recalled correctly, Callum’s office door displayed a sign that read COO.
It seemed the whole family was part of the deception!
Serenity frowned at the realization that Zachary had kept her in the dark for so long.
“Ms. Hunt, Mr. York hasn’t been in the office today,” said the receptionist.
As she poured Serenity a glass of water, she added, “Do you need to speak with Mr. York? Perhaps you could call him?”
Serenity took the glass of water.
She had rushed over here, and now that she was seated, her thirst was starting to kick in.
After finishing the glass, she asked, “Is Josh around? I want to see him.”
Zachary had mentioned riding on Josh’s coattails to succeed at the company, but that was nonsense! It was the other way around!
As the CEO’s administrative executive, Josh was essentially Zachary’s right hand. He had always known Zachary was married.
The receptionists exchanged glances, understanding the reason for Serenity’s visit.
“I’ll check to see if Mr. Bucham is available right now, Ms. Hunt,” one of the receptionists said.
One receptionist contacted Josh’s secretary via the intercom while the other suggested that Serenity try calling Zachary instead.
Serenity stood speechless.
Her phone had rung incessantly during her journey, but she was too preoccupied to answer any calls. Eventually, it stopped ringing, likely because the battery died. With little charge left and no time to plug in the charger, she was left to grapple with the shocking revelation that Zachary was Mr. York.
Overwhelmed with anger, Serenity dashed out of her shop and sped off, only to find out that Zachary was not in the office.
Since Zachary was unavailable, she decided to seek answers from Josh.
“Have Callum see me if Mr. Bucham isn’t free.”
As Zachary’s brother, Callum would be able to provide information as well.
The receptionist took the call, put down the phone, and politely informed Serenity, “Ms. Hunt, Mr. Bucham will see you upstairs.”
She then walked around the desk, guiding Serenity to the elevator. After pressing the button, the receptionist stayed with Serenity instead of allowing her to go alone.
Upon reaching the designated floor, the receptionist escorted Serenity to Josh’s secretary, personally introducing her before departing.
“Please follow me, Ms. Hunt.”
Josh’s secretary addressed Serenity with respect.
They approached the administrative executive’s office and knocked on the door. After receiving a response from Josh, the secretary opened the door for Serenity and gestured for her to enter.
“Ms. Hunt.”
Josh had planned to skip work to deliver flowers to Jasmine at the shop and witness the confrontation between Zachary and Serenity, but instead, the guest of honor herself arrived at the office.
