Married at First Sight Chapter 784

Chapter 784
Despite this, she continued to exert control over him to prevent her son from causing any more distress to Serenity.
Although her son might be in significant pain now, with time, he would emerge from the darkness and cease seeking out suffering.
Time is the best remedy for healing all emotional wounds.
“What on earth happened?”
Mr. Lowe, usually preoccupied with work, was unaware of his son’s affection for Serenity.
Mrs. Lowe had believed she could manage her son’s feelings on her own and thus hadn’t informed her husband about the situation.
With a sigh, Mrs. Lowe said, “Your son has developed feelings for someone.”
Mr. Lowe responded, puzzled, “He’s an adult now. Is that unusual? Other kids start having crushes in their teens, but I’ve never heard anything about him. I was beginning to worry he wasn’t normal. Who is this girl? Is her family not suitable? Otherwise, I wouldn’t expect you to object:”
What Mrs. Lowe had just said suggested to Mr. Lowe that she disapproved of their son’s choice of crush.
Mrs. Lowe sighed heavily once more. “You know the girl too. You’ve known her for over a decade.”
“I know her, and I’ve known her for that long? Shawn usually hangs out with Jasmine… That little rascal hasn’t fallen for his own cousin, has he? That scoundrel is wasting all his education! Close relatives can’t marry,” Mr. Lowe protested.
“Where is your mind? Shawn doesn’t like Jasmine—the one he likes is her best friend, Serenity Hunt.”
Mr. Lowe was taken aback.
Mrs. Lowe continued, “Setting aside the fact that Serenity is already married, even if she were single, they wouldn’t be a good match. Just look at the…

The status of the Lowes and Serenity’s family background is worth examining. Even considering that Serenity’s aunt is Mrs. Stone, their relationship is limited to that of aunt and niece, which doesn’t hold much significance. Mrs. Stone also has a daughter of her own.

“Besides, Serenity doesn’t have romantic feelings for Shawn. She has always viewed him as a little brother. Since discovering his feelings for her, she has become distant and aloof. It’s Shawn who can’t seem to let go and continues to pursue her. I had to threaten him by leveraging our connections to ensure Serenity and her sister would leave Wiltspoon if he kept bothering her.

“Only then did Shawn stop looking for Serenity, but he still rebels against me in his own way. I’m doing this for his own benefit! He could have fallen for anyone, yet he chose Serenity. Isn’t he essentially becoming a homewrecker? The Lowes aren’t so undesirable that he wouldn’t be able to find a wife. Why does he feel the need to disrupt someone else’s marriage?”

Mr. Lowe was left speechless.

At that moment, Zachary entered, flanked by his bodyguards. The conversation between Mr. and Mrs. Lowe came to an abrupt halt. They stood to greet Zachary, who approached them with purposeful strides, his bodyguards closely trailing behind.

As they watched Zachary enter, Mr. and Mrs. Lowe sighed in admiration; Mr. York truly exuded an air of authority. Each time he appeared, it felt as though royalty had arrived.

“Mr. York,” they said with smiles.

Zachary merely glanced at them as he walked past, stating, “Follow me.”

In unison, Mr. and Mrs. Lowe agreed, their minds focused entirely on the moment. They silently followed Zachary, unable to walk behind him.

Instead, he had to follow closely behind his troop of bodyguards. Mrs. Lowe noticed that Zachary’s expression was cold and interpreted it as a sign of trouble. It was terrifying; it truly felt as though they were on the brink of death, yet they had no idea how it would happen.
