Married at First Sight Chapter 718

Chapter 718
“Liberty, I have to go. I’ll visit you and Sonny another time.”
Mrs. Brown said this before making a quick exit.
As Serenity carried Sonny out the door, they watched Mrs. Brown get into a taxi. Serenity clicked her tongue once it was clear that the elderly woman had left the building.
She exclaimed, “She’s never been this eager to see Sonny before; why the sudden change?”
Sonny was holding the toy car that Mrs. Brown had given him just before she left. Serenity took the toy car from Sonny and asked, “Do you like the toy car, Sonny?”
“No,” he replied.
Shaking his head, Sonny explained, “I already have a lot of toy cars.”
All of his other cars could move, while the one Grandma gave him could not.
“Why don’t we throw it away?” Serenity suggested.
After some thought, Sonny replied, “For Lucas.”
He believed Lucas wouldn’t take his toys if he had his own toy car.
“Sonny, Lucas will never fight with you over your toys again. If you don’t want to throw it away, we can give it to other children, but not Lucas.”
“Um… I want to give it to Jenny.”
Serenity carried her nephew into the shop and asked her sister, “Who’s Jenny, Liberty?”
“She’s my neighbor’s little girl. They have playdates with Sonny.”
Serenity placed the toy car from Mrs. Brown on the table. “Sonny said that this toy car is for Jenny.”
Liberty believed in letting her son make his own decisions.
Since Sonny didn’t like the toy car from his grandma and didn’t want to throw it away, it was perfectly fine for Jenny to have it.
It didn’t matter to Liberty.
Her son already had a mountain of toys at home. Elisa was generous, always showering Sonny with new toys during her visits.
Elisa adored Sonny.
Worried that everyone might spoil him too much, Liberty…

She became stricter in raising him. “Liberty, what did the old hag want?” Serenity was skeptical that Mrs. Brown was there to see Sonny. Liberty smiled sarcastically, “Do you really think her story about visiting Sonny was genuine? She came to complain about Hank and Jessica’s wedding. The family has to cover the wedding expenses, provide support, and buy jewelry for the bride. It’s always about money.”

“They deserve it. Jessica better step up and spend all of the Browns’ money.” Liberty was considerate of the family and never asked for anything unreasonable. The only thing she requested was for Serenity to live with her.

What did Liberty receive in return for her understanding? Betrayal.

“I hope there’s a lot of drama in the Brown family. I wish Hank and Jessica’s wedding gets ruined. Liberty, find a better man to marry. The happiness and success of your next marriage would be the best revenge against them.”

“I can let Zachary’s grandma and Aunt Audrey know if you’re looking for a second chance at love, Liberty. They’ve been through it and can recognize a good man when they see one. They can help you vet him.”

Liberty replied, “Marriage is not on my agenda right now.” All she could think about was making money to buy a car and a house. She would be content if she could raise her son well enough to get into a good college and secure a good job.
