Chapter 694
“This is our home. We can spend the rest of our lives here, so there’s no hurry to explore,”
Zachary said as he wrapped his arms around Serenity and guided her into the house, even lifting her up to hurry up the stairs. “I’ll prepare a delicious dinner for you downstairs once I’m satisfied.”
Serenity was at a loss for words.
They entered the master bedroom on the second floor, but before Serenity could take in her surroundings, Zachary gently placed her on the bed.
With his strong body pinning her down, Serenity lifted her arms and nudged him. “You’re heavy,” she remarked.
Propping himself up on his elbows, Zachary locked eyes with her, revealing the intense desire in his gaze as he asked in a rough voice, “Can I, Seren?”
“It’s not too late for you to change your mind. I could just take another cold shower,” she replied.
Serenity caressed his face. “You inherited your good looks from your parents. With all this meat around me every day, I might just turn into a she-wolf and devour you. Don’t take a cold shower; you just got out of the hospital.”
Zachary pressed his weight onto her as he leaned in to kiss her lips. He chuckled, “Liar, liar, pants on fire. You were relieved to hear we’d be sleeping in separate rooms. Don’t think for a second that I didn’t see through your act. You love to flirt with me and run away before anything serious happens.”
Now that they were developing feelings for each other and he had torn up their signed agreement, Serenity felt ready to take a bold step forward and consummate their marriage.
Otherwise, they would remain married only in name.
“Go take a shower,” she urged.
“Sure,” he replied.
Zachary sealed her lips with another kiss before rolling off the bed. He grabbed a change of
Zachary, dressed in his clothes, said to Serenity, “I’ll shower in the guest bathroom. You can stay here.”
Serenity smiled and replied, “Go ahead.”
Before heading off, Zachary couldn’t resist planting a few affectionate kisses on her face.
By the time he finished his quick shower, Serenity was lying in bed, waiting for him.
When he entered the room, a blush spread across Serenity’s cheeks as she pulled the covers closer to herself.
Noticing her anxiousness, Zachary took his time. He approached the bed and asked thoughtfully, “Would you like some alcohol?”
She often felt more relaxed with a drink in her system.
“Do you have any?” Serenity asked.
Though she frequently talked about taking their relationship to the next level, she now seemed hesitant, mostly due to her shyness.
Her lack of experience made it difficult to shake off her nerves, and alcohol could help ease them.
“Yes, I do. There’s a minibar in the bedroom. Wait here; I’ll prepare something for you.”
Zachary didn’t want to get her drunk; he just wanted to give her a shot to calm her nerves and fears.
Serenity nodded in agreement.
Feeling anxious, she remained in bed after her shower, unaware of the minibar in his room. After pondering for a moment, she picked up her phone from the bedside table and started searching for something online.
Suddenly, a large hand took the phone from her grasp.
Zachary’s deep voice broke the silence. “Seren, I hope to be the one to teach you.”
