Married at First Sight Chapter 638

Chapter 638
“After we got married, I was always on guard around you, filled with suspicion. I even made you sign a restrictive six-month agreement… I admit I’ve been a jerk. I’ve only cared about my own interests and never considered yours.
“You called me a slimeball, and you were right. Seren, I’m truly sorry!”
Zachary gently kissed her lips, his handsome face reflecting his heartache. “Seren, I promise I won’t behave this way again. I’ll learn to understand you, to communicate, and to trust you better.
“This is our first time being husband and wife. We’re both inexperienced, so let’s work hard together on this journey and move forward hand in hand, alright?”
Zachary whispered many things into Serenity’s ear. As he spoke, he gradually drifted off to sleep beside her.
Both husband and wife felt the weight of their argument.
Serenity went to a bar to drown her sorrows, while Zachary stayed up all night, neglecting food and rest. When he learned Serenity had gone out to drink, he immediately dropped everything and rushed back home, despite feeling hungry and exhausted.
Mrs. Lane had told him that trust and understanding were essential for a lasting relationship.
Zachary woke up before Serenity.
It was already seven in the morning.
He recalled that he hadn’t cleaned the living room yet.
He kissed Serenity on the cheek and stepped out to tidy up.
The floors were swept and mopped multiple times. He then picked up his suit jacket and tossed it in the trash. As for Serenity’s clothes, he washed them by hand.
He was worried about dirtying the washing machine if he put soiled clothes in it…
Once he completed his chores, hunger finally struck him.
Having skipped dinner the night before and tackled so many chores that morning,

He was undeniably starving. Zachary’s hands began to shake from hunger. He rushed into the kitchen to prepare a quick meal, which he consumed to alleviate his hunger. Gradually, his hands stopped trembling.

Suddenly, the phone rang. He answered it, and a few minutes later, he spoke softly, “I’ll be there in three hours.” After hanging up, he contacted his private plane crew to inform them to prepare for departure. He needed to leave Wiltspoon soon to continue his business trip; otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to enjoy New Year’s peacefully unless he addressed his obligations.

Additionally, he needed to fit in a two-day trip to Annenburg to attend a wedding. He hoped to return in time on the 28th to take Serenity to Whitmore Mansion for the celebration.

Zachary then returned to Serenity’s room. Noticing that she was still asleep, he chose not to wake her. He leaned down to kiss her cheek and whispered, “Seren, I still have to work for a bit longer, so I can’t be by your side. Don’t forget to think of me. Even if it’s just to call me a jerk or a slimeball, I’ll accept it as long as you remember me. I’ll have Mrs. Lane come back later to prepare food for you to eat when you wake up.”

After saying this, he stood up straight and gazed at her affectionately before turning to leave. He sent a message to Mrs. Lane. A few minutes later, just as he was about to head out, he caught sight of a drawing in the corner of the sofa. Josh had shoved that drawing into his hands the previous night, mentioning that it was created by Serenity and urging him to appreciate it. He walked over and picked up the piece of paper.
