Married at First Sight Chapter 608

Chapter 608
After watching her sister and Hank grow close, fall in love, and ultimately experience a harsh divorce, Serenity concluded that it was wiser to rely on herself rather than others.
Even though they shared a bed, she realized she could not completely depend on him.
This was because the person who shared her bed could easily become someone who shared someone else’s bed at any moment.
“Are you saying I’m narrow-minded?”
Zachary’s voice was low and icy, reminiscent of the cold winter weather.
He wanted to know everything about her out of concern.
However, she hesitated to share, accusing him of being narrow-minded and getting upset over trivial issues.
Was this trivial? Even Duncan was aware of it, while Zachary only learned because Duncan informed him.
If Duncan hadn’t mentioned it and Zachary hadn’t asked, she might have kept it to herself forever.
He cared for her, but she felt unappreciated. It seemed pointless to inform him when he was not present.
“I do think you have a short temper. You’re often self-centered and get angry if things don’t go your way.”
He had many admirable qualities, but he also had his flaws.
No one is perfect, and Serenity didn’t expect him to be. She recognized her own shortcomings as well since they were both just human.
She pointed out his faults in hopes that he would change. If he didn’t, they would only continue to clash, forcing her to either learn to tolerate it or ignore it.
Zachary ended the call.
Serenity was taken aback. “He hung up on me. Can he get even angrier?”
She tossed her phone onto the table, feeling a bit frustrated, and muttered, “I’ve made myself clear to him. Why is he…?”

“Still angry? Fine, he can be angry if he wants. I don’t care,” she thought. Did he expect her to share every little detail with him? Serenity grumbled to herself, “I told him from the start that I would handle what I could on my own instead of bothering him. But what about him? Does he share everything with me? Can he guarantee that he isn’t hiding anything from me?”

“His double standards are outrageous!”

He was so domineering. Sometimes, his controlling nature made her feel cherished, like sweet honey, but other times, it felt suffocating, as if he were constricting her so tightly that it was hard to breathe.

That sense of suffocation lingered. The call from Zachary had completely wiped away her sleepiness. She picked up her phone again and sent him a message, but he didn’t respond.

“Again! He’s doing it again!” Serenity exclaimed, throwing the phone to the foot of the bed. What a petty man. Each time their communication faltered, he would react this way, ignoring her messages.

“If he doesn’t want to respond, then fine! I don’t care!”

Serenity picked up her phone and set it on the nightstand. She lay down, trying to let the sandman take her away. However, her irritation lingered, and she tossed and turned, sleep far from reach.
