Married at First Sight Chapter 587

Chapter 587
“Yes, my Elisa has her pride. It’s not as if no one else wishes to marry my daughter,”
Audrey still understood her daughter best.
If Elisa claimed she would give up, she would remain true to her word.
The sound of a car approached from outside.
Alice stood up and, while walking out of the house, said, “That must be Elisa.”
There was her sister-in-law in sight.
Elisa exited the car and walked toward her sister-in-law with a bright smile. “Alice, Mom is still at home, right?”
Alice’s heart ached at the sight of her sister-in-law’s radiant smile. She would prefer Elisa to cry than to smile like that. Heaven knew that the brighter Elisa smiled, the deeper the pain in her heart.
She sighed.
It was painful enough to be in love with a man she should not have fallen for, and even more painful knowing that he had just gotten married.
“Mom is still at home. Elisa, are you okay?”
“Do I look like I’m not okay? Don’t worry, Alice. I’m great. I just said goodbye to the past.”
Elisa spoke nonchalantly, but she preferred not to discuss Zachary. She affectionately linked her arm with her sister-in-law’s and said, “Come on, let’s go inside.”
Once Elisa returned, Audrey could no longer remain seated.
Thus, the family accompanied her to the DNA testing center.
In contrast to Audrey’s anxiety, Serenity remained calm back at her store.
She sat at the cashier’s desk crafting items. She glanced twice at Grandma May and Mrs. Lane, who were playing with Sonny, before telling Jasmine, “My husband is on a business trip. Let me know if there are any events I can attend in the next few days.”
Her life had been fairly

She had been feeling distressed lately. To alleviate some of the pressure, she decided it was time to go out and have some fun with her best friend. Her sister and nephew could come along as well.

Jasmine smiled and said, “It’s just shopping and eating. What other activities would you enjoy? I doubt high-society banquets would interest you.”

“Elisa is heartbroken. Why don’t we invite her out for a drink?”

Serenity immediately shook her head. “Let’s skip the drinks. You know my alcohol tolerance isn’t great, and my sister won’t let me drink anymore.”

Jasmine teased her, “I thought you’d be more adventurous now that your husband is away on a business trip.”

“Don’t make it sound like I’m afraid of him,” Serenity replied. However, she actually feared letting loose, worried that Zachary might return, get jealous, confront her, and reignite their cold war.

“How about we go see a movie tonight?” Serenity suggested. “The students will be on winter break soon, and our shop will close for New Year’s. It’s a perfect time to relax and unwind.”

“I thought you planned to catch up on your orders during the holidays?” Jasmine questioned.

“Earning money is important, but we also need to make time to enjoy ourselves. There are several new films out right now, and I’ve seen so many people posting their movie ticket stubs on social media. It’s been ages since I’ve watched a movie. Let’s go tonight.” Jasmine lowered her voice and asked, “Doesn’t your husband take you to the movies?”

Serenity also lowered her voice as she replied, “He’s so busy every day that he doesn’t have time. I’ve had a lot on my plate lately.”

The main issue was that they had lacked feelings for each other in the past. They had shared a roof but had remained emotionally distant.

There was hardly any form of communication between them, let alone going on dates or watching movies. The two of them didn’t even hold hands while walking down the street. “Mr. Bucham constantly invites me to the movies, but I always say no.” Serenity was taken aback. “You turned him down? You don’t want to watch dramas anymore?” Jasmine was left speechless.
