On the way to City Hall, Hank received a call from Jessica. She asked, “Hank, have the formalities been completed?”
“We’re on our way to City Hall now and should arrive in about ten minutes. We just divided our assets as she requested,” he replied.
Jessica let out a sigh of relief, grateful that there had been no further complications.
“Text me when you’re finished,” she said.
“Okay. I’ll help you move your things this evening,” Hank responded cheerfully.
He planned to pick Jessica up after Liberty moved out. He wanted to enjoy some peaceful time with just the two of them before his parents and sister’s family came to stay.
Jessica smiled sweetly. “Sounds good.”
Hank’s house was beautifully decorated and located in a desirable school district. The property value had increased significantly, making the house worth several million.
Jessica had long dreamed of living in a high-end neighborhood and becoming the mistress of that house.
Now that her dream was about to come true, she felt a surge of happiness. She could hardly wait for the day to end; when night fell, she would be able to be with Hank openly and proudly.
“I’m driving now, so let’s talk tonight,” Hank said.
He was also looking forward to the future.
After hanging up, Mr. Brown turned to his son and asked quietly, “Are you planning to marry that Yates girl?”
“Dad, I love Jessica. I’m divorcing Liberty because I don’t want Jessica to suffer. Once I’m single again, I will definitely marry Jessica. You and Mom can choose a date to meet her parents and siblings for a meal together,” Hank explained, discussing plans for his wedding with Jessica.
Olivia added, “You two can just get your marriage license at City Hall. There’s no need for anything more.”
“That won’t do. I—”
I promised Jessica that I would marry her in a flamboyant manner. After all, a girl typically wears a wedding dress just once in her lifetime, and I can’t let her down.
