“Liberty, please reconsider.”
“Hank was deceived by that vixen, Yates. I’ve already instructed him to break things off with her, so there’s no need to stay angry. Let me know how you’d like to express your frustration, and I’ll help you with that. Please, don’t be upset. For Sonny’s sake, just forgive Hank this one time.”
“Don’t go through with the divorce, okay? Please don’t divorce him.”
Liberty looked calmly at the woman who was about to become her ex-mother-in-law.
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Brown, but there’s no turning back now. Once your son did those things, it was inevitable that we would end.”
“Liberty…”
Olivia’s eyes filled with tears when she heard Liberty refer to her as Mrs. Brown.
“Are you really so heartless that you’d let Sonny grow up in a single-parent household?”
“Sonny is my son, and he means more to me than anything else. Even if he grows up in a single-parent family, I can provide for him and ensure he develops healthily. Don’t worry, I won’t tarnish your reputation in front of Sonny.”
Regardless of her fallout with Hank, he would always be Sonny’s father, and Liberty refused to speak poorly of him in front of their son. There was no reason to involve the children in their disputes.
“Serenity, talk to your sister. Don’t let her go through with the divorce.”
The cost of the divorce was too significant.
Olivia now regretted her earlier stance deeply.
She had always believed that since Liberty had no job, no income, had gained weight and lost her looks after marriage, and had a child, she wouldn’t have the strength to file for divorce.
She never expected Liberty to actually go through with it!
“Mrs. Brown, I respect my sister’s decision.”
What was the point of regretting it now?
Serenity noticed the regret on Olivia’s face, but it seemed more about her sister’s determination to pursue the divorce than anything else.
Olivia could not bear to part with the million dollars from the division of the assets.
