Married at First Sight Chapter 498

Chapter 498
Serenity parked the car in front of the York Corporation building and called Zachary again.
During her drive, she had attempted to reach him no fewer than twenty times.
The envious sourpuss refused to answer her calls.
This left her feeling extremely worried!
Fortunately, Zachary finally picked up.
“I’m at the entrance of your office building, Zachary. Can you take thirty minutes off? Come outside; I need to talk to you.”
Jumping to his feet, Zachary approached the meeting room window and pulled open the curtains to look down.
As he was on a high floor, he couldn’t tell if the car at the entrance belonged to Serenity.
“Are you there, Zachary? Please say something.”
Serenity said anxiously, “Come out. I’ll wait at the entrance until you finish work if you don’t come out.”
Zachary’s deep voice came through. “Hold on; I’ll be right out.”
After closing the curtains, he turned swiftly and exited the meeting room. Once he hung up the call, he instructed solemnly, “Josh, you take over the meeting.”
Josh was on the verge of laughter.
He hit the nail on the head.
However, Josh kept a straight face as he replied, “Sure.”
Zachary abandoned his senior executives and rushed out of the meeting room.
He took the elevator to the first floor and spotted Serenity as he walked toward the entrance of the office building. She was outside the car, holding the umbrella he had tossed onto her car hood.
Zachary didn’t have an umbrella.
Just as Zachary…

As he was about to step out into the rain, a perceptive receptionist quickly handed him an umbrella. “It’s pouring heavily, Sir. Take this,” she urged.

“Thank you,” he replied, taking the umbrella from her and confidently striding out.

All feelings of jealousy vanished the moment he spotted Serenity standing at the entrance. He had never imagined she would come all this way. Her presence instantly lifted his spirits; it was clear she cared about him. Shawn could be dismissed, despite having known Serenity for over a decade.

“Zachary,” she called out, feeling a wave of emotion as he finally appeared. He always denied her the chance to explain, disappearing every time he saw her with another man. It wasn’t as if she had wronged him; all Serenity did was turn Shawn down and encourage him to move on.

“Why didn’t you wear the coat? Didn’t I leave one for you?” he asked, feeling guilty that she wasn’t wearing the coat he had given her. Without hesitation, he removed his jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

“The coat is in the car. Don’t take yours off; you’re only wearing a shirt underneath. It’s getting colder with all this rain,” she replied, handing his jacket back to him.

Zachary then walked to her car to retrieve the coat. It was slightly damp from the persistent rain that had soaked the car hood. Even though he had sheltered it with the umbrella, the wet hood still affected the coat.

Balancing the umbrella between his neck and shoulder, Zachary checked the inside of the coat with his free hand. He only placed it over Serenity’s shoulders after confirming it was dry inside.

were dry.

“Zachary.”
Serenity gazed at him as he clutched the umbrella. She tossed her own umbrella aside, dashed over, and leaped into his arms, holding him tightly. Instinctively, Zachary wrapped his arm around her waist.
