Married at First Sight Chapter 492

Chapter 492
Shawn spoke in anguish. “Seren, I understand that you’re married, but it’s merely a marriage of convenience. You’ll get a divorce. I care for you, Serenity, and I’ve been in love with you for a long time.”
“I realize you can’t accept me right now. I attempted to keep my distance from you, but I couldn’t manage it. You’re the only one on my mind at every opportunity. Serenity, I want you to know that I love you.”
Presenting Serenity with the bouquet again, he looked her directly in the eye. “Serenity, will you give me a chance to pursue you?”
Jasmine had spoken to him and cautioned him against it.
Yet, Shawn could not simply abandon his feelings and give up.
He genuinely loved Serenity.
Shawn regretted not confessing his feelings for Serenity the instant he fell in love with her. If he had been honest about his feelings, Serenity might have waited to marry until he was older instead of marrying a stranger.
Serenity reached out, took the flowers, and walked past Shawn to toss the bouquet into the bin by the door.
Turning around, she said to Shawn, “Shawn, are you going to leave, or do I need to chase you out with a broomstick?”
“Serenity!”
Shawn cried out in pain, “Can’t you be less cold toward me? You weren’t like this before. You used to treat me so well. Your coldness now feels like a knife cutting through me over and over.”
“How am I not a better choice than the husband you married without even meeting? We’ve known each other for over a decade and shared everything. Why didn’t you choose me?”
Jasmine explained it clearly to

Shawn wondered why Serenity had not chosen him. The truth was, she had always viewed him as a younger brother.

However, Shawn refused to accept this reality. He didn’t want to be Serenity’s younger brother; he wanted to be her husband and partner.

“I was only kind to you because I saw you as a younger brother. I would rather die than have been nice if I’d known it would give you the wrong impression,” she said.

After a decade of friendship, Serenity felt she had been there for Shawn as he grew up. It was difficult for her to remain indifferent toward him now, but she had to!

Serenity was no longer alone; Zachary was now supporting her. She could no longer act as she pleased or be nice to just anyone, as she was now Zachary’s wife. She had to consider his feelings.

Moreover, she did not have romantic feelings for Shawn. To her, he was like a younger brother. How could there be romance between siblings?

She needed to maintain distance so that Shawn could move on from his feelings.

Disappointment washed over Shawn’s face.

“Serenity… how am I lesser than your husband? You two don’t even know each other, yet you can marry without feelings involved. Why can’t you give me a chance when we’ve known each other for over a decade? All I want is the opportunity to wait for you.”

Looking him dead in the eye, Serenity coldly replied, “Shawn, the fact that I would prefer to marry a stranger rather than choose you shows that I have no romantic feelings for you. What we have is a sibling relationship.

“I wouldn’t accept your feelings even if I were single, let alone now that I’m married. I don’t want to date my family. Besides,

“How could I possibly fall for you when you feel like a brother to me?” Serenity exclaimed.

Shawn shouted back, “We’re not siblings! We’re not related by blood!”

He stepped forward, locking his bloodshot eyes onto Serenity’s. “Please, Serenity. Just give me a chance.”

He reached out to take her hand, but she swiftly slapped his hand away with her duster.

“Don’t touch me, Shawn, or I won’t hold back. You know I practice kickboxing.”

Although Serenity didn’t want to get physical with Shawn, she would show no mercy if he continued to ignore her boundaries and tried to lay a finger on her!

“You don’t stand a chance! Not in this lifetime, Shawn! You should leave before we become enemies. Don’t ever come back here.”

Shawn’s face turned pale, and he couldn’t stop his lips from trembling. “Enemies… Serenity, are you really going to consider me an enemy?”

He was in love with her, but she viewed him as a foe. The weight of her words was crushing him from the inside out.
