Married at First Sight Chapter 491

Chapter 491
“I made you hot cocoa. I’ll put it in an insulated cup for you since you don’t have time to enjoy it now. Take it with you to your shop.”
Serenity looked at Zachary in surprise.
Who would have thought that Zachary would make her hot cocoa?
Zachary cleaned the insulated cup before pouring the hot cocoa into it. He then placed the lid on and packed the insulated cup into a bag before handing it to Serenity.
“Don’t forget to drink it.”
Serenity accepted the bag and gazed deeply into his eyes. “See you,” she said.
With that, she left.
Standing there, Zachary watched her walk out the door.
Grandma May scolded him, “Can’t you walk with her?”
“She knows where the exit is.”
Grandma May was left speechless.
She was about to praise his progress when reality hit her again. This punk… left her at a loss for words.
“Nana, by the way, the way Serenity looked at me just now made me think she would have kissed me if you hadn’t been around.”
She was rendered speechless.
As Zachary regretfully returned to his seat next to Nana, the grandmother and grandson quietly had their breakfast.
“I think Serenity didn’t wear her thick coat,” the old lady noted.
Zachary replied faintly, “I’ll deliver it to her.”
Grandma May was pleased that he understood the situation.
Even though she had rushed out of the house, Serenity didn’t forget to call Liberty to inquire about Sonny. Since her sister had taken the day off work, Serenity drove straight to the shop without stopping by her sister’s place.
Having missed the morning rush hour, Serenity set off.

As she entered the store, Serenity quickly tidied up the area. Due to the rain, the shop felt cluttered with items that should have been displayed outside. Armed with a duster, she began dusting the shelves. With the students about to go on their term break in a few days, she could essentially close the shop until after New Year’s.

“Serenity,” came a familiar voice from behind her.

Turning around, Serenity first noticed the vibrant bouquet of roses before seeing Shawn, the bouquet’s holder. It had been a while since she last saw him. Shawn looked worn and unkempt, sporting a five o’clock shadow. The usual cheerful demeanor he had was notably absent.

Displaying little reaction, Serenity turned back to her cleaning. “Jas is sick in the hospital. You should visit her there.”

She was offering Shawn an escape.

“Seren, I’m here for you,” he replied, presenting the bouquet to her.

Serenity brushed the flowers aside with her duster. Shawn stared at her in shock, his hurt evident in his eyes.

“Seren.”

“What’s the meaning of this, Shawn?” Serenity glared at him, frustration boiling inside. “Have I not made myself clear? I’m married!”
