Married at First Sight Chapter 469

Chapter 469
As Serenity felt a sense of unease, Elisa spoke up. Her voice was unusually calm as she asked Serenity, “Serenity, my mom will be home around noon. Can I go to your place to pick up Sonny?”
Elisa didn’t have a strong impression of her aunt and couldn’t glean much from her photos. According to Serenity, all children were adorable in their youth.
If Sonny resembled her aunt, even slightly, she couldn’t just ignore it. She had to let her mother see him.
Elisa remembered the first time she met Serenity. Something inexplicable had drawn her to Serenity.
When she first met Sonny, she felt an immediate affection for him as well.
If Sonny was indeed her aunt’s grandson, that could explain why she felt such a connection with him from their very first encounter.
While she had seen children Sonny’s age before, none had captured her heart like he did from the start. She felt an overwhelming urge to keep him close as her own nephew, and when buying him toys, she was far from stingy. In fact, she even wished she could open a toy factory just to create toys for Sonny.
The same was true for Serenity.
Given her social status, Elisa had encountered many people who were insincere and overly flattering. She found them unappealing.
At twenty-six, the number of true friends she had could be counted on one hand due to her discerning nature.
Nevertheless, the instant connection she felt with Serenity allowed her to overlook Serenity’s background and social class, making her eager to befriend her.
This desire stemmed not only from Serenity helping her brainstorm ways to pursue Mr. York but also because she genuinely enjoyed being friends with Serenity.
“Elisa, I can’t do that right now. Something’s happened with Sonny.”
Upon hearing this, Elisa’s

Her heart raced as she asked anxiously, “What happened to Sonny?”

Serenity paused for a moment before choosing to be honest. “You know my sister asked her husband for a divorce, right? After that, the Browns took advantage of her distraction to kidnap Sonny and sent him to Chelsea’s house.”

“But they didn’t take good care of him. Chelsea’s younger son hit Sonny, and when Sonny fought back, the younger boy ran crying to his older brother, who sought revenge on Sonny, even though he was the one who started it. That little brat beat Sonny so badly that he had to be hospitalized.”

Elisa immediately felt a surge of anger. “Serenity, why didn’t you tell me about something so serious? I told you to let me know, and I’d definitely help you. How is Sonny now? Has his attacker been caught?”

Setting aside the fact that Sonny might be her aunt’s grandson, she couldn’t bear to hear that he had been attacked simply because he was so adorable, and she genuinely liked him.

“Sonny has a soft tissue injury to his face that hasn’t healed yet. His attacker also kicked him twice. I saw the security camera footage; Sonny was sent flying about a meter away. I want to tear that attacker apart for this! But… he’s just a kid too, around ten years old.”

No matter how big and tough Matthew Repton appeared, his age was the key factor—he was merely a ten-year-old boy.

“We’ve reported it to the police, but since he’s just a child, the focus is on education. They can’t arrest him and can only encourage his parents to impose strict discipline. Right now, my husband and I are going to discuss compensation with them.”

“Sonny experienced a tremendous shock and fainted on the spot. Last night, when we left the hospital and returned home, he had a high fever and couldn’t stop…

He only managed to fall asleep in my sister’s arms this morning after his fever decreased and he wore himself out from crying. “A ten-year-old kid was cruel enough to beat Sonny? And they’re cousins, right? Your sister’s sister-in-law is truly a rare specimen. With a mother like that, how can anyone expect her children to turn out well? Serenity, send me the location. I’ll gather a few cars of people to go over. They won’t fight; they’ll just scare them a little so they won’t bully Sonny again.”

Elisa was furious upon hearing all this. She was fiercely protective, and no matter the reasons behind the attack on Sonny, she would always side with him. “My husband has already called all his cousins over. There are about eight or nine people there now. I don’t need your help with that for the time being.”

Serenity thanked Elisa but politely declined her offer to bring more people. Elisa’s temperament was quite volatile. Their visit to the Reptons today was solely for negotiation. Serenity was concerned that if Elisa accompanied them, she might lose her temper and lash out at the Reptons. It was sufficient to have just the York cousins with them. “Your husband has that many cousins?”
