Chapter 441
Serenity inquired, “Where can we send Sonny?”
Hank was aware of Serenity’s residence.
They lacked reliable support in their hometown as well. Aside from Liberty, Serenity herself wouldn’t feel comfortable.
Jasmine suggested, “What about Elisa? You could ask her for assistance. As the heiress of the Stone Group, she lives in a large villa with high security. Additionally, given the Stone Group’s reputation, the Browns wouldn’t dare to cause trouble there.”
“They wouldn’t think to look for Sonny with the Stones. Elisa adores Sonny, so she’ll make sure he’s well taken care of.”
Serenity’s expression brightened. “You’re right! I completely forgot about Elisa. I’ll talk to my sister later, and if she agrees, I’ll reach out to Elisa for help with Sonny for the time being.”
“Elisa has already mentioned that you can turn to her if you need assistance. Serenity, sometimes we must face reality. In this unfair world, it’s easier for the wealthy and powerful to navigate challenges than for ordinary people like us.”
Jasmine nearly said, “Just lean on Elisa whenever possible.”
Serenity reluctantly concurred with her friend.
After the call, Serenity opened WhatsApp and found the photo Elisa had sent her yesterday from the resort. It featured a childhood picture of Mrs. Stone and her sister. Serenity had only glanced at it the previous day, as she had been out all day.
Now, looking at the photo again, Serenity thought Elisa’s aunt was quite adorable as a child. She wore a small skirt and had two pigtails, her smile radiating innocence and charm.
As Serenity observed the image, she noted that Elisa’s aunt and Sonny bore a slight resemblance. She pondered, ‘Do all children that age look alike?’
Suddenly, her phone rang repeatedly, pulling Serenity back from her thoughts.
There were doubts. It was a call from Liberty, so she answered it quickly. When Serenity picked up the phone, her sister’s voice trembled with tears as she said, “Seren, they took Sonny…”
Liberty had mentioned the evening before that Hank wanted to take Sonny back to his hometown. During that conversation, she and Hank had argued over the phone.
“What? How did they take Sonny?” Serenity asked, surprised. She had been considering whether to send Sonny to the Stones so that Elisa could care for him for a few days. Otherwise, they would need to keep an eye on Sonny around the clock to prevent the Browns from taking him.
She never expected the Browns to kidnap Sonny before she had the chance to discuss it with Liberty.
Liberty sobbed, “I took Sonny to the market to buy some groceries when my in-laws suddenly showed up. At first, my mother-in-law was playing with him, and then she picked him up while he was laughing. Since she’s Sonny’s grandmother, I felt I couldn’t stop her from holding him.
“Who would have thought that after she carried him, she would quickly hand him over to Chelsea’s husband? He immediately took Sonny, ran to his car parked on the side of the road, shoved Sonny inside, and drove off in a hurry.
“By the time I reacted and tried to chase after him, my in-laws stopped me…”

Liberty was on the verge of a mental breakdown, fearing she might never see her son again, taken away by her husband’s family.
“Liberty, have you called the police?” Serenity asked, furious at the Browns’ actions. They were actually trying to use Sonny to blackmail Liberty. Serenity felt a deep sense of concern for her nephew and worried for his safety. However, she needed to stay strong for her sister and remain calm. She had to be there for her.
“Liberty,” she said steadily, “you should call the police first.”
“They are Sonny’s relatives. Will the police step in?”
Liberty and Hank were in the midst of a divorce, but the Browns had taken Sonny. Would calling the police allow Sonny to return?
Liberty felt helpless.
