Hank kissed her and said, “If we had slept together sooner and you were pregnant with a boy, my parents and I would have been willing to give Sonny’s custody to Liberty.”
He had just slept with Jessica, and she had gone to get morning-after pills afterward, making it clear that a child was not in their immediate future. At the moment, Sonny was his only son, and Hank held traditional beliefs that favored sons over daughters.
