Married at First Sight Chapter 245

Chapter 245
Zachary quietly observed Serenity.
Having not seen her for two days, he suddenly realized how much he enjoyed looking at her face.
The couple exchanged glances in silence.
Eventually, Serenity broke the quiet, saying, “Wash your hands and help me bring out the dishes. They’re ready to serve.”
Zachary neither declined nor explicitly agreed. He pressed his thin lips together and asked softly, “Why did you buy so much seafood?”
This was because he hadn’t received any notification of expenses from the bank.
Did Serenity purchase all this seafood on her own?
Even though they were at an impasse, Zachary still felt it was his responsibility as a husband to support the family.
Serenity turned to admire the seafood feast she had prepared. She smiled and explained, “It didn’t cost anything. Ms. Stone brought these back from her beach vacation and shared them with me. When you take Nana home later, you can bring some back to your parents. They’re all very fresh.”
Zachary’s handsome face twitched slightly.
So, it was Elisa who had given Serenity all this seafood.
Elisa and Serenity were supposed to be rivals in love, but since Zachary had deliberately hidden his identity, the two women seemed to have developed some interaction and were even becoming good friends.
“We shouldn’t accept gifts without reason. Since Ms. Stone gave you so much seafood, we shouldn’t owe her a favor. I’ll transfer some money to you so you can buy something for Ms. Stone as a return gift for all the seafood.”
In short, Zachary simply wanted to send money to Serenity.
This was necessary because the couple had deleted each other from WhatsApp.
He didn’t want to admit it by taking the initiative.

To add Serenity back into his life, Zachary decided to transfer her some money. As long as Serenity was willing to accept the money transfer, she would need to provide him with her account number. This way, he could add his wife on WhatsApp without feeling embarrassed.

However, Serenity didn’t think as much as Zachary did and outright rejected his offer. She replied, “Ms. Stone and I are already friends, so don’t worry about being courteous. If I were to calculate things with her, she would get upset and think I’m looking down on her. Also, I taught Ms. Stone a trick, so her giving me all this seafood can be seen as payment for my services as her relationship consultant.”

Zachary was left speechless.

“Wash your hands quickly and help serve the dishes. The seafood won’t taste good once it gets cold,” Serenity said as she grabbed a plate of shrimp and moved past Zachary to exit.

“Serenity,” Zachary called out to her quietly.

Serenity paused, turned to look at him, and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Zachary stared at her, momentarily at a loss for words. Noticing that Serenity was growing impatient and ready to leave again, he opted not to say anything to mend their relationship and simply replied, “Nothing.”

Serenity shot him a glare, turned, and walked out of the kitchen, leaving Zachary alone.

He felt a bit frustrated. After a minute of silence, he finally washed his hands and joined in to help serve the dishes.

Elisa had provided Serenity with a variety of seafood, and she cooked a portion of each, filling the table. Jasmine also brought a few bottles of drinks.

Everyone gathered around the table and enjoyed a delightful meal, with even Sonny relishing his food. Sonny loved shrimp, but being too young to peel them, his mother had to do it for him.

Serenity adored her nephew and felt sympathy for her sister, who was weary from searching for a job all morning. Therefore, she put on disposable gloves, peeled the shrimp for her nephew, and said to her sister, “Liberty, eat some. I’ll look after Sonny.”
“I’m fine. You can eat,” Liberty replied.
Liberty served some fish to her son and encouraged him to eat the fish instead of just the shrimp. Grandma May admired the strong bond shared between the Hunt sisters.
